Have you been down this road before, you bought a car with your last penny without thinking of the maintenance cost? 2 years ago a guy used his life savings to buy a Range Rover Sport because he loved it so much…

He was dazzed by the first fault within a month… Repair cost was over N1million for a vehicle he got for N5m (i.e 20% of the purchase price). I guess he is still drinking the garri because he has since downgraded to a Toyota Pencil light.

Maintenance cost can be determined by the complexity of faults, availability/cost of parts, required technical expertise, labour cost etc.

there are some cars that are available in nigeria that are extremely cheap to maintain because their parts dont get damaged easily.

So we can say Asian cars are cheaper to maintain than their German counterparts.

No car part is cheap in Nigeria unless you buy fake parts.

Interestingly enough, the cars that are most expensive to maintain are owned by Coscharis motors. They have made it a point to ensure that they import directly from the manufacturers and thus the expense.... Also "German engineering" is over rated. This is a fact!

Having used 3 of those brands, I can relate.

That is your opinion..... did u consider locations, the big cities and take average?... have you checked prices of each parts and compare? how did u get this your finding? Did you just post to get reaction or solution?
