Leave that thing. U should never be separated from your money esp that kind of amount, if you aren't leaving it in your personal car under lock and key. How can I trust a driver (whether uber or not) with that kind of money?! In this recession? What food will make her even do that? The wisest thing would have been to reach your base first, drop the money in a safe place...then go and look for what to eat.

I was somewhere and a similar scenario played out, and the people who were agitated and wary were the Nigerians amonst us (we were going for a field trip and we had to leave out back packs in the vehicle that brought us) other nationality there were cool apart from the two Naija peeps with us

This nothing compared to the robbery that goes on everyday when people exit OR Tambo Airport. Lots and lots of foreigners have been and continue being robbed silly after alighting from flights in Johanesburg and their police seem to be in collusion. Abeg make u park well Mr South Africa. Abegi. Go to USA, UK, Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands, South Africa. They have their own pickpockets, scam artists, crooked taxi drivers, drug dealers, and people that will insert drugs into your drink then charge up your credit card and steal your cash.

It happens daily all over the world... just because one person got robbed doesn't mean all of us are guilty. From what I can tell, she shared personal details and was not as discrete as she could be.

You think she can flaunt all that money in South Africa? Or you can go around New York showing off your cash and being indiscrete? 50cent (in his former life before rap) and co would rob you blind before you knew what happend. Their own is worst. I hear some people install flame throwers and sharp objects underneath cars to deter armed robbers. Wasn't it in Paris Kim K was dispossessed at gunpoint? It was high profile so it made the news, but that is regular occurrence in the city of lights.
