blueAgent:I asked you a simple question. Instead of you to answer it, you coined a erroneous statement of what I think. But let me address you Japan is more developed than Nigeria because they value the development of human resources from day 1 more than any other thing. That's why their GDP per capita is 32,477.22 USD against 2,640.29 USD for Nigeria. It implies that an average Japanese earns 11 times what an average Nigerian earns. .... ![]() |

When I joined nairaland, I was still a committed Christian.. But it was not actually the arguments of atheists that made me rethink my beliefs, it was the response of Christians... Most of the time, the responses were not actual rebuttals, just statements like you dont question god or you dont understand the bible.... One particular meme depicting the bears mauling the children that insulted Elisha. That meme really made me uncomfortable and no theist could justify that act, that's when I started asking questions and creating my own threads, and then I got tagged as an atheist |

randomperson:Lol, so you're not one? Hardmirror is a legend though, outside of Nairaland here, i.e Facebook, he is being credited with helping a lot of people embrace their atheism. |

blueAgent:You had to post this twice. Death may be a big deal to you but it is not to me. It is my life and I can choose to end it when I like. No apology to anyone and none of your biz. |

CatfishBilly:I really dont care much about labels, am i an atheist. Definitely. But I feel that atheism is purely a philosophical position, I feel humanism is what we should be arguing for...... L |

KingEbukasBlog:Which means you picked up on the existence of a Cosmic Being by virtue of the evidence abound in nature as opposed to divine revelation, right? |

onyenze123:Answer was Atheism that made Japan more developed than Nigeria. To rephrase it, is religeon that limited Nigeria's development? |

hopefulLandlord:Thats why you Atheists fail in everything. Among all the countries compared Japan has the highest population and would have the highest body count when population of each country is factored into the rate. |

blueAgent:after over 24 hours, he researched a bit and gave an even more asinine answer body count? isn't that convenient? what's a better stat in this issue, body count or rate? so you're telling that 2 million humans committing suicide in China is same as 2 million humans committing suicide in Nigeria? I don't even know your source here, mine is WHO https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate |

blueAgent:Religious brainwashing contributed hugely to it. Why is illiteracy level in North so high? Have you forgotten western education is Haram? Why do you have sharia laws over there? (You know the problem that comes with it) Why do you think we can't control our population? I hope you knew what China did with one child policy. If it were in Nigeria, The bible says, Koran says, the catholic church says... What does common sense say? By 2050, Nigeria will be the third most populous country. What is being done? Oh, It is well... The lord says blablablah nonsense... ![]() I weep for this country. Oga, if you want to know more, read this article. I can't be here breastfeeding you. This is a very nice thread, I must say... I have always have my doubts about the whole idea of religion but never for once questioned the idea of a god that would judge everyone in the "afterlife". I stumbled on a thread on the general front page that led me to this section and I can't go for days without visiting here ever since. Being able to see arguments objectively and think logically and critically I must say is the greatest treasure anyone can possess. But we all have it but have been suppressed by religion. I am now an agnostic, I am still learning and I just love the new me. Thanks to Nairaland. |
