With exception of the bilateral basal ganglia calcification which report points to be likely physiological, I think the Scan points to the possibility of bone of the eye and jaw damage. Radiographers and Neurologists in the house over to you. I pray God helps her out, get well soon
very wrong. The bilateral basal ganglia calcification is an incidental finding. Doesn't mean its physiological. Its abnormal but doesn't have anything to do with the assault. That's why it's an incidental finding. It was there before the assault. Fracture of the left orbital bone with herniation doesn't mean there is bone in the eye. There is usually fat surrounding the eye which rests on the socket bone of the eye. There is a crack in that socket bone and the fat is kind of falling through that crack. This is the best I can explain in layman's terms. The muscles controlling the movement of the eye are also herniating through the Fracture. If not handled well, she will have a form of strabismus, what we normally call half past 4 eye.
