Another one who cannot read and comprehend.

God deliver us from Spiritual Zombies.

Perhaps you can show me where I said we should stop soul winning.

Religion hates anything intellectual.

You just confirmed everything I posted previously is correct.

Let me give you homework although I know you won't even be able to attempt it.

Post 5 scriptures where Jesus SPECIFICALLY asked us to win souls since you claim he did so.

Pls do this homework and post your results here.

It is your Pastor that told you that Jesus said we should win souls and then you think that by focusing all your energies on sharing flyers on the roadside (instead of improving yourself so that you can minister to the material needs within your environment) that souls will be won.

A person who is unemployed for 3 yrs is trying to win the soul of a person who has been unemployed for 2 yrs.

Being an average Christian you did not even bother to search the scriptures to confirm like the Bereans.

FYI Jesus came to Preach The Kingdom of God (which encompasses the economy you mentioned He didn't preach of, despite the fact that Jesus talked about and did so much to show He controls the Economy of those in the Kingdom).

That is what he John The Baptist preached. That is what Jesus preached and that is what Apostle Paul preached.

Anybody that preaches the Kingdom of God will discover that people will desire to be a part of it and therefore surrender their heart to him.

All the leaders you have caught in let's go a fishing why haven't they stopped stealing Nigeria's money?

EW Kenyon who was a Pastor and is considered one of the greatest Christian authors said:

"Make your brain work. It will sweat, but make it work. It will improve. It will develop until you become a wonder to those around you." in his little masterpiece Signposts on The Road to Success. It was written in 1938 but something tells me you have not read it. Its available free online to download

Where is the Op... I think this guy has given the best reply to you.
let me add a little to what he has already said.
You people should not just throw the blame to the churches as if they are the cause of what is happening in this country.
Most of the things you've listed are the responsibilities of the government to provide in a very sane society/country... Yes.
This is not to say that religious bodies do not have their parts to play too

The post is not an attack on the Church, just a call on the Leaders that they can do much more with the platform, power and influence they possess.

Did Jesus not say that he was responsible for one man that was born blind? He didn't blame the mans parents, or government.

Where ever he went he did good, he made a difference, he made an impact. All the OP is about is that we start making actual difference in Nigeria.

and the curch is whom you cry against? why are Nigerian youths eager and quick to slander the church and not your joke of a government? Why not let's go and kill some senators instead of this let's go and bash churches?

Bro talk all you want, and no matter how much I say, it may not have much impact. But you and I know someone or a group of people who have that much power due to their huge following.

The religious leaders.

They have so much power to speak against looters, oppressions, mismanagement of public funds and trust, but do they really stand up for the people that they claim to be Shepherds over?

Can you name any one Religious leader in Nigeria who is using his/her strong influence to challenge or truly make a stand for the people against grave injustice such as Fela Kuti?

One only spoke recently when the FRCN law affected or challenged his influence.

I call on the Religious leaders cos criminals, looters, political thieves. Steal what should have been used to make roads and factories, then gift to these religious leaders. And you say we should not call them out?

Nigerians are way too religious.

If we had half the churches we do with members truly practicing the tenets of Christianity, we wouldn't be here.

How do you reconcile having multiple churches on one street and yet evil is multiplying in leaps and bounds each day. People would steal, loot, bribe and go to church to give "testimonies" God cannot be deceived.

Government steals form the people and gifts it to the religious leaders. If only they used the funds to create the jobs or made society better, one wouldn't be calling the out.

Imagine someone gifting a Private Jet to a pastor in Warri.

To all of you shouting the church has not done enough for the society.
To all of you saying there are no longer great thinkers.
Have you sat down to think...
What have you done to change or add value to Nigeria?
You want people to stop doing what gives them joy and start building industries, as an Individual what have you personally done or built? The church that handed you the flyer was started by one man, why not start your own organization and see how it goes? Stop hating someone for what they believe in, it doesn't change anything.
You cry for more industries, yet criticize the church for building and owning schools. You say they don't create employment yet criticize them for setting standards before they employ a staff. How hypocritical can we go. If religion doesn't help you, then don't disturb others who find joy in it. Its their money, they pay offering and tithe with it. Try using yours to save someone's life or build an industry. I bet the money you spend on drinking alcohol is more than 10% of your income

Thanks for commenting.

I am playing my part as much as I can with the influence, power and platforms I have, but only beg that the Religious leaders will do more with the power, influence and huge following they have.

Good, since you are playing your oart, so are they. Every organization has a mission. Theirs is to win souls for Christ, yours is to awaken people to think towards development, the government among other things is to create an enabling environment for the masses. The church is made up of people, many of which have their business es and employees, it also houses both the poor and rich, but there is no way they can give EVERY BODY a job. Anybody that wants to be wayward will be, despite the activities of the religious bodies, but doesn't mean they should stop evangelizing. Many people are offered jobs yet they can't keep it, many roads are built yet they get destroyed. I don't know abt your church or religious body, but i know mine is trying to sanitize the youths towards entrepreneurship and self independence.

The welfare services they offer? Any reasonable person with a working head wont challenge a church to create JOBS THAT IS WHAT YOUR USELESS GOVERNMENT IS FOR! WHEN DID YOU CHALLENGE YOUR LOOTERS LAST?!

The looters are protected by the church and mosque who receive the stolen money from them.

Nigeria: Just recently I was handed a flyer, a church was planning to establish another branch to add to the already many existing ones in that area.

They tagged the campaign, Lets-go-a-fishing

I personally feel, it is enough. Especially where you already have branches saturated and considering that making more Religious centers wouldnt solve our enormous problems that need clear cut practical solutions.

Please when will they start the campaign for

Lets-start-factories

Lets-create-jobs

People need JOBS...

If they are unemployed, they would not have enough to give (offerings and the Mandatory one), If people are unemployed, you will all suffer from area boys and road side robbers harrassing your members.

How is your Spiritual Practice (Religious activities) making the community and society better.

After all your singing, dancing, praying, preaching.....

How is it making any difference. What problems are those activities solving.

Do you like the way Nigeria is? Is this really okay?

Are you using all these to shy away from certain responsibilities?

Newton's first law of motion - Nothing will change until you act and things will remain the same until a force makes it do otherwise.

Could you kindly come up with something good and sustainable without negatively criticizing another's idea?

What is wrong with go-a-fishing? What is wrong in planting churches in and around developing areas? Don't you see fast food joints, event centres, schools and hospitals opening up in new and expanding communities? Abi na mosques you never see spreading into such areas?

Our problem as a nation is not church multiplication, its political. Our problems as citizens is not where we worship, its docility.

The Problem I have is that many of you people who have these wonderful ideas rarely do anything to add to the value of the society. It is not the responsibilities of certain people to solve all society ills. People solve problems based on how they understand to solve them. Jesus cannot be a scientist and at the same time be a religious leader, neither can pastor Adeboye. He will do what works for him.

Now you who have all these great problem solving ideas, why don't you start doing something about it. Or did they tell you that the LETS-GO-A-FISHING Program can't co-exist together with all the wonderful problem solving items you listed above?

God has given everyone a DRIVE, If you're passionate about all these things, start them, and the RIPPLE EFFECT will spread.

But I noticed that the real problem solvers rarely makes noise. I belong to an ANDELA group and all we want to achieve is to raise the number of PROGRAMMERS and SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS in Nigeria, and it's moving FAST

Start your own CRUSADE, stop condemning those who are doing their own.

Nothing wrong with planting more Religious centers. Are these Politicians not part of one Religious group or the other?

What is wrong in calling out these Religious leaders for not influencing their followers in higher and lower class in Nigeria positively?
Christians or Muslims

What's the point in making more Religious centers that seem not to be producing refined, productive, problems solving Nigerians.

Sorry to bother you.

The Church is obeying the Lord Jesus Christ by going to Fish for men.

And when those men become transformed they will develop the society.

My point is to awaken us to evaluate what we are expending so much time and resources on. How effective or what is the effect of our numerous religious activities in National development.

Do you have steady light yet? Did Jesus not say you are the Light of the World?

You are a solution. How many more years should Nigeria wait for the manifestation of 'Sons of God'

Should our Children still meet same power problems we are faced with....since before we were born.

While we continue to compete whose Religion is better. Whose church is better, which pastor is better....etc.

new churches? New vacancies. If you wish to know? Ask me how. Especially rccg

More expenses too

I agree they provide employment to some.

That does prove a point that if they can have that will and resources to setup that branch that will employ a few. (The pastor, security man, generator, soundtechnician etc). They could also have set up a business (like the Uni business they do), that can employ hundreds and provide food for more families.

There are countless businesses they could do to help their members (not the government).

Nice oine Op but my take is rather different. The Government should just take a cue from the church and start implementing poverty alleviation programmes, instead of bogus policies been read out without the masses seeing result. The govt can Go A Job Creation, GO Educating the grassroot, Go Counseling within every five minute drive of areas you see Govt based povertyalleviation institutes, well funded hospitals and schools. The same church you are talking about is creating jobs for the masses, hospitals etc A church in nigeria is already into free education funding dont think of only the money making aspect, the church is really helping the nation your observations notwithstanding. Caution should be taken if not the system of govt might return to the biblical days..Theology

I weep.............

Where are Christian APC leaders?

"Where are the Christians who sold the Church? The Islamic agenda is being perfected. Prof Ishaq Oloyede, a prominent Islamic fanatic who said he was not aware Christians are being attacked and killed is now to head JAMB replacing Prof Ojerinde, a Baptist.
Four Muslims were not replaced, but left to continue. Out of the 17 offices, 9 new replacement are Muslims and 4 retained are Muslims. 13 out of 17 are now Muslims. NUC, Muslim, JAMB, Muslim; TETFUND , Muslim.
Where are those Christian leaders who sold the Church for a plate of porridge?
Where are those telling us Prof Yemi Osinbajo would stand for the Church being a Pastor?
Do they involve him in all these lopsided appointments in favour of the North and Muslims or not? Do we have Christians among the APC leaders? Does Odigie-Oyegun, the chairman of the ruling party belong to the Catholic church?
The fact that Buhari released these appointments the same day, the PUNCH Newspaper published an Editorial titled"Buhari's parochial appointments", a paper that endorsed his candidacy is a dirty slap on the nation.
To say the least, it is a corruption with immunity. Many are afraid and being intimidated by the security operatives. Have we become second class citizens in our own country?"
MY TAKE:
Sadly the answer to the question is "YES", Christians are now second class citizens in Nigeria. We warned our people but they wouldn't listen.
Nigerians said they wanted "change" and now they must live with it. Every Christian that supported President Buhari and the APC, including some of the most prominent Church leaders, should bow their heads in shame.
As long as this evil continues we will not remain silent and neither shall we be intimidated. No matter how hard they try Nigeria will NEVER be Islamised and neither will our faith be rubbished.
Rather than add to the injury sustained by fellow Christian soldiers in the battle of life through mockery and condemnation and the likes, help to support and aid the recovery of the wounded. You become weak and vulnerable each time a fellow Christian falls.
Pastors fighting pastors, churches fighting churches.
We call our Christian leaders to at least float a political party against the next coming election
Politics is dirty because we left it for dirty people. We must rise to do the needful and stop complaining.
Then with prayers, we would make it.
Pls forward these messages to ALL Christians known to you

Comments like this are either mischievous or ignorant. You made it sound that PDP was 'Christian' and APC 'Unchristian'. You say that because GEJ was president, chikena. We know that is not true. There were many religious killings in Jos during Obj(PDP) Tenure.

You made it sound as if all was well and good during the GEJ administration. Since when has massive embezzlement become good? Since when has corruption become something desirable (that is not to say there is no corruption in this APC govt)?

This essentially 'Christian vs Muslim' dimension to national politics is mischievous. And politicians love it! When Dasuki was sharing money with Deziani, no one talked about religion. When FFK was sharing money with Musliu Obanikoro, religion was not an issue. When Fayose was receiving money from Adamu Muazu religion was relegated to the background.

PDP failed. APC is failing. Let us save our country from selfish politicians of whatever party. Stop this Religio-politics!
