Approach them at fire arms divisions of Nigeria police, state headquarters. You will need eye test from a doctor. You will be told the fees. If you know a high ranking officer to introduce you that will be fine, It will give them assurance that you are not a criminal.

It is called IJAKUMO in Yoruba. Moves mainly at night. The perineal gland alone would have fetched you not less than 5K, not to talk of the skin, when sold to the right buyers. As for the meat, very fatty and takes patience to roast but tastes better than just boiled. Bon appetite!
N.B: It is not wrong to kill animals for food, for their skin, for medicinal purposes, or to protect ourselves. What is bad is killing for pleasure or greedily killing more than we really need.

You must be a hunter to know this. The man may not know what the gland is. We call it" Iseta " in Yoruba.

It's of the cat family.

On the streets some call it wild cat... "Olongbo igbo" just like you have wild dogs, Bush pigs.
Ralphlauren:
Looking at its fur, that animal looks like a hyena.

Maybe a breed of hyena found in Africa undecided

It's a civet.. It's of the cat family.
fortsierafino:
It's called Fox. A wild animal that belongs to dog family. Very dangerous at night but always sleeping during the day. They are many species of it. Some can climb trees while some don't but the most significant thing about this animal is that whenever you sees it at night, you will only be seeing the two eyes which is like a wild fire. The entire body is black with golden or white spots.
In Igbo land, Anambra to be precise, it is called Edi while some call it Edi Abali(because it prowls at night)

why do they kill cows and goats?

your question eh..

Cows and goats have been domesticated and can be reared in a controlled environment to produce large numbers.

Çan you do the same for this animal?
You don't even know the animals name?

Congratulations, you might have just made this animal extinct in Nigeria and then you'll go to the zoo in the another country or on Animal Planet channel and be asking "What is this animal"?

And what do you think I can tell them during the ensuing interview? What range is the fee and can I tell them it is for self defense? And can I be allowed to buy just any gun, including assault rifle?
