He single handedly stopped Nigeria from splitting up because of his greed to rule this country which he never did.
He is the singular reason the Afonjas will keep serving Shepherds. The pioneer of western education who never told his people the truth. All these men have caused us problems that generations after us will never be able to solve because one brainy man sold out because of his selfish interest.

It is very unfortunate that some in this generation will not try and study true history. They do not care to read, only expert in bigotry that is based on tissue of lie. I challenge you to go and study about the 2days that Awolowo spent in Enugu just before the war. While at it, find out about Awo idea about federalism cum confederation. A peripheral minds without depth will think Awo benefited the SW alone, but why was Amadu Bello University established, what about University of Nigeria? This generation need to quit feeble mindedness and use their God given brain to study the Nigeria golden period. Awo, Zik , and Tafawa Balewa has been the greatest leaders Nigeria has produced to date. Awo actually created a pioneering visions that the later two strived to emulate. Nigeria shall be great again but we must first lay to rest all our mumu we are displaying here.

The more I stay on this forum and seeing yoruba people so called "education", I can see why una are heads in head with North in all stats pertaining to education.

Like are you two serious?
Have you two EVER picked up a book and read the history of that war or did you sit your asses at your "free education" classes and listen to any story told to you people to remove the guilt of your savage called awolowo.

Let me help you understand and you can research what I'm about to say

Prior to Awolowo got involved with the war, the Nigerian military was losing hence the reason biafran soliders had less military casuality than Nigerian soliders. Your awolowo instructed Gowon to blockade the ways biafran were trading hence bakassi was given to cameroon which resulted to the civilian casualties that occurred within biafra. In addition, you awolowo instructed them to find away to avoid the military and seek ways, predominately where the civilians reside, to enter the areas the Nigerian government was trying to reclaim .

In other word, your Hitler of a brother awolowo was the sole reason civilians were targeted by your weak ass military. I don't care whether a war is going on or not, to suggest that the military who are fucking armed to go after women, children and men who are unarmed like a coward as opposed to those that are armed inaddition, suggesting they starve women, men and children who yet again has no way to defend themselves in other to win a war and chest beat is one of the most wicked and devilish thing a man can do. Your awolowo is no more different than Adolf Hilter. The only difference is he's black that's it. Black both inside and outside and I'm glad he ended up dying a misery, rotten death and burning in hell as we speak.

May he continue to burn in hell and may the souls of those he targeted like the devil he is torment him there. I hope his pain is anguishing!!!!.

Why would Yoruba or Hausa insult Azikiwe when he was on the side of Nigeria during the Biafran war?
Why would an Easterner not hate Awolowo when he, as finance minister 1967-1971 passed the policy to block all food going into Biafra, in order to starve Biafran soldiers, children, women, and civilians, leading to death of over 1million INNOCENT civilians.
After the war, Awolowo in his wickedness, gave only 1Pound to every Igbo man, regardless of how much you had in your bank account before the war, if you had over 600pouds, you're given one pound and your money, chopped! Is that not corruption?
When the FG of Nigeria started the indegenization of foreign companies just after the war, in a bid to make Nigerians richer, Awolowo sold off all the foreign companies to his family and yoruba friends; no Igbo man. Is that not corruption and tribalism?
Several times, Awolowo contested for Presidency, several times, he failed. Until he plotted a coup to oust Babangida and Babangida uncovered the coup. Subequently awolowo was given a chance to flee into exile, or remain and be executed by firing squad for attempted coup.

Awo approached Zik to form alliance with him at the parliament. He even offered to support Zik to be Prime minister, even though Awo's party won more parliamentary seats than ziks. However, typical of the greed with Igbos Zik betrayed Awo and formed alliance with the north. So who is now the slave. Please stop showcasing yor generational foolishness on this platform

I think the rat poison dudes here are right....I finally found an internet in Kiribati and googled Awolowo death and suicide propped up...I wonder why he did that? Was he fraustraded or fraustrated....

In a no-hold barred interview with FS Online recently,a grass root politician ,Mr Adebayo Adeyinka who lives within the College Road at Ifako-Ijaiye axis in Ogba ,a suburb of Lagos, Nigeria was livid with rage when he learned that a key politician connected to the issue was denying the incident.

He revealed that Chief Awolowo wanted to lead some kind of guerilla warfare or militant campaign against the government of President Babangida so that he can be overthrown through a popular or people -led putsch.
According to him , the Elder Statesman summoned a meeting of his core loyalists over the issue and this was even filmed so as to strengthen the extent of commitment of each of the politician that attended the meeting..
He pointed out that however unknown to all of those who were privy to this meeting and clarion call , Chief Lateef Kayode Jakande ,Former Executive Governor of Lagos State had a different plan as he betrayed them to the military .He Said:’ But unknown to them , Chief Jakande was planning to betray them, he went to President Ibrahim Babangida and promptly showed him the tape

“Papa Awolowo was invited for a meeting with President Ibrahim Babangida who was then staying at Dodan Barracks which was the seat of power as at then and the truth of his clandestine meetings was revealed to him by the gap –toothed General

“He gave Papa some options and that was for him to be ready to face a court martial , be ready to go to a prison or better still go on exile
“At this stage Papa felt instead of allowing some ambitious khaki boy to mess him up he should just pack it in and call it a day ,so Chief Awolowo decide to commit suicide so as to save himself from the ignominy of going to prison for the second time in his lifetime .

Kiribati internet is so fine and i think Google made it easier

EXPOSING HOW MUCH THIEF AWOLOWO STOLE FROM NIGERIA

(1) He was stupendously wealthy during his lifetime, infact there is NO company at Oba Akran in Ikeja ,Lagos where he does not have at least a five percent equity, Dideolu Court in Ogba alone cannot be valued at less than N10 Billion ,that was the place that he had in mind to be his Seat of power if he was elected as Nigeria’s President.

(2) He owned Shonibare Estate but the man he was using as a front and who later went to prison over some issues which Awolowo himself was privy to eventually laid claim to the estate.
“He got all of this wealth due to a great measure of goodwill and tax waivers he gave to investors whenever they come to establish their business.

(3) Anytime you buy a bottle of Coca-Cola you are enriching the Awolowo Dynasty,

(4) Go to Ijebu Ikenne and you will discover that the price of bag cement there is different from other parts of the nation due to the subsidy that the citizens enjoy on account of Awolowo who was their son and I hope you know that West African Portland Cement is in Ewekoro and not Ikenne.

(5) He listed such blue chips like Dunlop Nigeria Plc,
(i) Guinness Nigeria Plc.
(ii) Neimeth Pharmaceutical Nigeria Plc.
(iii) May and Baker Nigeria Plc.
(iv) Vitafoam Nigeria Plc.
(v) Wahum Nigeria Limited .
(vi) CAP Nigeria Plc.
(vii) International Paints of West Africa [IPWA].
(viii) Berger Paints Nigeria Plc.
(ix) Berec Nigeria Limited. ,
(x)Kabelmetal, Nigeria Bottling Company Plc
(xi) Leventis Nigera Plc.,
(xii)West African Portland Cement Company,[Lafarge ].
(xiii)Wema Bank Nigeria Plc.
(xiv) Scoa Nigeria Plc.
(xv) CFAO Nigeria Plc.
(xvi) Cadbury Nigeria Plc.
(xvii)Wemaboard Estates, Odu’A Group.
(xviii) Livestock Feeds Nigeria Plc.
(xix) Nigerian Breweries Plc as places the Awolowo family have commercial interest to mention just a few.

(6) Apart from this stocks analysts believe that the most visible of his investment ,The Nigerian Tribune Newspapers cannot be valued at less than N100billion today in terms of brand evaluation as Thisday Newspapers was valued by the Owner ,.Mr Nduka Obaigbena at N200 Billion recently during a media chart while celebrating his fiftieth birthday sometimes last year.

WHEN A THIEF BECOMES A KING MAKER:-

“He made Sijuwade rich, because he was his business associate and in fact some of us held very strong views that he was one of his fronts and later the same man became the Ooni of Ife”he added
Mr Adebayo Adeyinka recalled his several years of following grass root politics right from the days of Action Group to the Unity Party of Nigerian era in the second republic but now lamented that he had since lost all interest in partisan politics due to the massive corruption in our polity.

HOW AWO FAMILY NOW REGARD ‘’AWOIST’’

“On account of this great betrayal Awolowo family members regard the “Awoist” as a group people should deal with using a long spoon till this day and this explains why when The Peoples Democratic Party Government gave some of them political appointment lately they accepted it without thinking twice.

“Dr Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu was made an Ambassador by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo while, Mr Segun Awolowo Jnr was given a plum job at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja as a Secretary.
“Recently when Afenifere was disintegrating Mama out of concern for her husband’s legacies decided to call a truce because as she puts it then, she did not know what she was going to tell her husband the day they meet in heaven

MAKING OF THE ‘’BEST PRESIDENT ni.GERia NEVER HAD’’:-

Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo was a leader who believed that the state should channel Nigeria’s resources into education and state –led infrastructural development.

At his own expense albeit controversially ,he introduced the free primary education for all of the Western Region ,he equally established the first television service in Africa in 1959 and expanded electrification projects in the region using the proceeds from the highly lucrative Cocoa export industry.

Could never understand why you Afonja just cannot be proud of your tribe before speaking your mind. Why do una so shamelessly claim wtf you are not. Dude, if you're igbo then I'm brazilian.

First of all if you're actually igbo, you wouldn't support awolowo as you would have known he was the sole reasons innocent people who are igbo were killed

Secondly if you are igbo, you would also known that what Ojukwu stated is a typical elder narratives of mocking someone. If you're igbo, you would have known that as it's common within igbo culture. There was a reason why it is stated that Ojukwu laughed after he stated that.

But like a typical Afonja, you'll delude yourself with any story if the truth does not favor una. Anyway, you can tell yourself that Ojukwu meant it. I suggest never mention that specific statement to any igbo, including your imaginary igbo dad, as they'll laugh at you to your face. Just a suggestion.
