They were legendary Nigerian political leaders.

Nnamdi Azikiwe and Obafemi Awolowo both significantly contributed in charting the course of our collective national destiny. Essentially, they were nationalists and statesmen who played vital roles in Nigeria’s independence movement.

Individually, they were fondly referred to as “Zik” and “Awo” respectively.

These iconic characters also had one thing in common: they loved flamboyant automobiles.

During the peak of their political adventures, they traveled the length and breath of the country, attending political rallies and meetings. These top-of-the-range cars helped them in their journeys. These exceptional cars also contributed to their larger than life images.

See photos of the cars they owned at the peak of their national political journeys in the 50s and 70s.

They were modest leaders who were selfless unlike our leaders today who are just in office for themselves and their kids.

The difference between this and our current politicians is that it's very likely that each one had only a single one which contrasts sharply with the garage of super cars our dear Dino currently flaunts.

Watch this video of them during 1979 presidential campaign. They both were cruising the mecedes benz 200E. A car that middle class nigerians couldnt afford till around 2001.

Our leaders are/were all bad. From buhari to murtala to gej all were/are crooks.

Meanwhile check out asian countries and how they left us behind like bad habit

There's no element of modesty in the two guys and their cars as at the time they owned these cars.

Dino Malaye is a reflection of what our past leaders have been. No difference.

You will be amazed to see the modest car the last Governor General used before handing over to these rascals who we call statemen in the 60s.

In his book; "From third world to first", Lee Kuan Yew captured in details and made mockery the corrupt and ostentatious lifestyle of Nigerian leaders when he visited in the 60s.

Most of our corrupt and ostentatious leaders today will be described in 40 years from now as modest.

Nigerians forget easily.
