I am highly impressed by Enugu State's 14.2 billion Naira revenue in 2016, despite the tough economy in Nigeria. This means that Gov. Ugwuanyi has continued to build on Chime's foundation. We've got good administrators no doubt. I would like the state government to double that figure in the next 5 -7 years. 042, ndi oma, ndi oma!!

This isn't bad Belle. Ogun state lacks infrastructure. Call a spade a spade. And about population, what is the population of Ogun state?

well una go defend una people sha. I wish I could show u pics
This isn't about defending anything. It takes administrative INGENUITY to increase IGR of a state from a patry few hundreds of millions a year around 2010, to its current N72-billion as at 2016 ending. And when you say Ogun state lacks infrastructure, where exactly?? We are talking about 3 senatorial district of a landmass of over 16,000 km sq. Look at the following data of registered phonelines below that gives a ballpark population spread across the states of the country.

Rivers is not underperforming.
Those figures of Rivers are not real.
Hope you've been following up this igr thing since 2014.
If you do then you should know that the igr for Rivers is not released yearly, but the people in charge of the estimations just keep repeating similar figure year in year out.
Actually, I think most of those figures are understated, for various reasons, including corruption. And this applies across all states.

It should be obvious to you that they keep estimating the IGR of Rivers to be always around 80 while that of Lagos keep running high just to satisfy their concience.
Since 2014 Rivers has always remain at 80 something(even when its clearly stated that yhe figures for Rivers werent released) while their states have been running high.
Lagos moved from 270 something to 300 and, while Ogun has all of a sudden moved to number 3 spot.

I carry nyash for una.

So that translates to all the roads in Ogun state are terrible ?

Besides contractors have been mobilized back to that your axis since March . Most of these roads are under construction

Nonsense trash
what of osun state land of hunger
abi you no see that one na only ekiti

blady hypocrite grin
Osun state is about 4 times higher dn ekiti state though. 5billion to 1billion. Maybe dts why d guy complained about ekiti.

All this is nonsense though. This country needs to be restructured. Let states or regions get at least 60% of their revenues. So they can reinvest it for even more profit. We are just paying salaries WT this money. No devpt whatsoever while some few guys at the FG steal billions to build houses around d world for their families. Mschewww!

When you're ready to stop gulping deciteful data and make real judgements on your own go to places like Akute, Agbado, Ikojo. Those places are heavily populated areas of Ogun state without even basic roads. You speak of ingenuity. Laughable. Ogun state is the next big thing in Nigeria cos of its proximity to Lagos. It's growth isn't rocket science.

Speaking about landmass: They are way larger states in Nigeria and it's not even like the population is evenly distributed. They are areas of dense population in Ogun and areas that are very sparsely populated. Areas that are heavily populated especially those areas bordering Lagos should be fixed. Internal roads are a complete mess. Everywhere is just an embarassing mud pool. The moment you cross over from Ishaga to Akute it's like you left heaven to hell. Every day I and my team wash our operational vehicle like ****.

I'm not hating on your state of anything. We have to realise that our leaders and shortchanging us. The sooner we rise above petty hatred and see the bigger picture and know that we deserve more than what we have or promised, this country will better. Nigeria as a while is underperforming. Even the best states in Nigeria are still a long way from realising their full potential.

Even the Rivers State budget puts IGR at 116bn.
Remember that's even understated.
The figure in the budget is even always below what reality is, because thats where politicians steal from without being caught.

I remember Wike's interview on Channels TV where he clearly stated that the igr hovers around 9-12bn per month.
Remember politicians are hardly truthful, they'll always give a figure lower than reality when it comes to igr.

See Lagos State! Choi!!!

Lagos should be a country. Hahahhahahaha!

Seriously impressive performance from Edo State. Generates far higher IGR than every single South Eastern state which should nominally be higher since several of those are manufacturing powerhouses.

Quit being mischievous. Ogun is the defacto industrial hub of the country

https://www.businessdayonline.com/ogun-ikeja-top-manufacturers-investment-destinations-in-2014/

The state also attracts as much as 75% of FDI that finds its way into the country

http://punchng.com/ogun-attracts-75-fdi-into-nigeria-uk-envoy/

It's also the mining capital of the country

Please for SW only :

All those of you hailing Fayose as your role model (so shall it be, Failure personified) when other are busy trying to generate revenue Fayose is busy drinking palm wine, cutting ponmo, eating rice by the road side and using all his fish brain to criticizing Buhari's government.

Ogun State more grease to your elbow....SW we will surely get there.

Ipods .....wait for when Lekki Free Zone to come up una go see revenue liver go fail you. Asiwaju Tinubu .....Long Life ,More Strength ....all your enemies will witness your greatness. Ambode ......Jah Bless

Bomb dey una brain, Ogun the home of Industries in Nigeria. Many local and foreign investors set up industries there because of its proximity to Lagos.

Lagos is choked up no space so they move to Ogun the only border state to Lagos so they can build their industries and meet the needs of Lagos populace.

Even your hero Jonathan applauded the state for its industrilization.

Ekiti is second from the bottom in internally generated revenue. Fayose spend all the time criticising the president and the federal Government. What is he doing for his people.

See ogun state has nothing to gain if they should falsify figures of IGR.. Ogun state alone attracts 75% of FDI in Nigeria, it's also the mining capital of the country plus the manufacturing capital too
Re: Internally Generated Revenue At State Level (2016) by seguno2: 9:40am On May 12, 2017
Despite the IGR plus allocation and loans, the 36 governors are unable to pay salaries and pensions for several months and years.
This is terrible.
Even public schools with qualified teachers and equipment are unavailable for all the children in their states.
