After an heated argument with some friends over the weekend, looks like country splitting is kind of an easy way out of all of these. Cos that was the reasonable conclusion drawn

Nigeria is a secular state where we have both Muslims and Christians, Now CAN is writing federal government to stop Nigeria from participating in a sport because the organisers are Muslims but there is nothing bad if we participate in any sport organised by Christians or atheist.
my question is how does individual either christian or Buddhist participating in a general sport organised by Muslims affect the individual religion.
this is pure hate of Islam with no logical reason.

If u had read d post with understanding & not sentiment, u would've known d reason 4 CAN's objection,which is: d game is meant 4{strictly} islamic countries & i believe Nigeria isn't one.
So,know it dat dat sports event is different 4rm others like d Olympics or Fifa organised event..
Dear,re-read & be wiser, thank me later.

Islamic solidarity sports federation how did this concern Nigeria? Is Nigeria a Muslim country?
the last time i check Nigeria is not a Muslim or a Christian country but a country that you can practice any religion of your choice
And by Nigeria participating in this game, how have you been prevented from practising your religion?
Re: CAN Protests Nigerian Participation In Islamic Sports by CyrusTheGreat: 7:39pm On May 12, 2017
maasoap:

And by Nigeria participating in this game, how have you been prevented from practising your religion?

Poor logic. You are not "practicing Islam" by playing in a football tournament fool. If Nigeria participates in these games it is like announcing that it is a Muslim nation, which it is NOT.

Also, Islam is backwards and revolting. Because of laws letting muslims in the North "practice their religion", there is mass child-marriage of little children to rapist pedophiles, and there are jihadists like Boko Haram who brainwash kids and the desperate, rape and murder and steal, destroy infrastructure and schools (this is a sign that they are extremely stupid), and perpetually keep Northern Nigeria in the Dark Ages.

If Nigeria had no muslims, it would have no Boko Haram. If Nigeria had no Boko Haram, families would not be torn apart and schools and towns wouldn't be burnt down, sabotaging generations of education. If Nigeria's North was secular, instead of a rotten hotbed of Islam and Islamism, it could see freedom, economic and infrastructural development/growth, rise in education, safety and human rights being respected. Feast on that thought a moment.
Re: CAN Protests Nigerian Participation In Islamic Sports by Heavance(m): 7:44pm On May 12, 2017
There are other countries there that seem not to be Islamic, like Uganda, Ivory coast, Cameroon, Suriname, Burkina Faso, Togo, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Gabon......
So it's not only Nigeria, let's just see it as a game abeg, we have too many problems right now, this shouldn't be added.

Hmmm, I would have called out CAN on being needlessly alarmist but after going through the list of countries that would be attending and struggling to find other secular countries, I think CAN have enough cause to be skeptical. I mean, it's like I say i'm a lawyer and i'm asked to attend a "lawyers' solidarity dinner" only to get there and find out i'm the only one present that's not a lawyer. It may not mean anything but I would be very uncomfortable.

reading many of the comments on this thread,it is clear that many are still very young. look during babangida's administration,he used dictatorial power and secretly entered nigeria into organisation of islamic states which was illegal and unconstitutional.from then till now, i want to believe the islamic world sees nigeria that way.the federal govt have yet to make a strong stand point till now. so, CAN is fully aware of where they are going and every nigerian should know this because it is no longer hidden.

so who is funding them? if it's the Nigerian Islamic council....that's fine but they are not representing Nigeria they are representing themselves or the Sharia states not the whole country.

In any case, same applies for any christian conventions or whatever...... participants attend in there own capacity, not representing the whole country because Nigeria isn't a christian state. it's pretty simple, the country is secular meaning religious neutrality and that's the way it should be
Let me give u another example.. The winner of the Most beautiful girl in Nigeria, represents Nigeria in Miss world.. This has nothing do with the FG..same with Big brother Africa, representatives represent Nigeria in BBA. This isn't business of government.. As long as the representatives of this Islamic sporting event are not funded by the Nigerian government it shouldnt be anyone's problem.
If Nigeria as a whole claims to be an Islamic state anD wants to finance such competitions, then i have a problem with it. The same way I have a problem with the Government sponsoring pilgrimage..

I want to assume you are educated.

Adeboye may be 'influencial' but that has NOT disputed the Bosun Emmanuel claims. Everything that man said was true and is even truer 2 years into this administration. Every fact he predicted are coming to pass already.

Adeboye is NOT God and religion tolerance is not the same as False Representation.

That being said, the Fiesta is organized by Islamic Countries and strictly for Islamic Countries . Nigeria participating in simple terms imply Nigeria is an Islamic country. This is misrepresentation because Nigeria is supposedly 'secular'. Some of us know better actually...

It's different from religious tolerance. My neighbor sitting with me as I type this is a Hausa/Fulani- Muslim from Ilorin and I'm more comfortable with him than some other neighbors who are 'christian'. We practically share everything and respect the boundary conditions. That is tolerance!

Please you people should stop using one pastor or bishop as a general yardstick for everyone. Besides what Adeboye said is what the Pope will say as well as regards tolerance.

I'm a Yoruba Christian.

In fact, studies have shown that these restrictions actually can actually have adverse psychological effects on perceptions of sexuality.

If Muslim countries are so much less "debaucherous" due to their murder of the freedom of women, and for men and women, then why are they the most PORN WATCHING NATIONS ON EARTH, and ALSO the top countries on earth for internet searches for ANIMAL PORN, CHILD PORN AND RAPE PORNOGRAPHY? Let's assume you are Atheist and your clan/family is supposedly a combination of various divisions of atheism -free thinkers and the likes. Then there's a harmless Egungun sports festival being organized by Ògún Worshipers and strictly for Ògun Worshipers. But some of your 'atheist' kindred who are skilled in masking and dancing enlisted in the Egungun festival.

What will anybody or the organizers think of your Clan?

Apparently everyone will assume those kindreds of yours have represented the whole clan, and prseumed Your clan is traditional religionist which is NOT true.

Do you know the Genesis of Muslims having Sunday gatherings in Nigeria?

It's majorly because some churches/denominations have some how been able to lure and convert innocent and unsuspecting Muslims to Christianity simply by participating in harmless church activities on Sundays when these Muslims appear idle and unengaged.
