What is the smartest street billboard ad you have ever seen, or looked at and liked a lot?

The war between two German car behemoths.

A while ago I came across a post on the web which portrayed a billboard war between BMW and Audi. There have been numerous accusations that these images are faked, and I agree that they more than likely are, but even so I liked the concept a lot and it would be great to see more of this throughout the world.

It started with Audi placing a billboard calling out BMW, showcasing their Audi A4.

Then, BMW responded with an even bigger billboard placed next to Audi’s, with simply the word ‘Checkmate’.

After starting the ad war, Audi couldn’t keep quiet, and so they responded with the ‘king’ of their fleet:

love bmw bill board along the highway to Johannesburg from midrand, at night the headlight comes on when coming back, the led backlight on the other side of the bill board is on

I really like the healthy marketing competition amongst these 2 German rivals. They are pushing sales of their vehicles. Audi looked for trouble first sha.
