Hello please my brother recently did IELTS academics in febuary 2017 when he wanted to apply for a scholarship in the UK...the scholarship ddnt eventually pull tru.. so he wants to try express entry to canada

Is it tru he can't use his ielts....someone said he ha to go and sit for another kind of IELTS...kindly assist ..cos he's worried about spending another 70k...

Yes, he has to write another. Express Entry requires IELTS General Training not Academic.

@temitope, bro please, what can someone who is currently in Canada with a visiting visa do to stay on? apart from extension of visa, can he or she apply to study or work? what's the solution to stay on please?
thanks

I don't think you can convert to any kind of visa without returning home. You certainly can't apply for study while you're there, for work I seriously doubt Nigerians are given work visa without an employer giving u a job and filing on ur behalf. Except you have a spouse who's a Canadian citizen or PR, you might need to come back home. Try not to overstay, might ruin future chances.

Sure...what are you waiting for.

Your school fees will even be cheaper as a PR and you won't have to worry about extending your student visa. Search for the Express Entry Thread on Nairaland (if you are interested)

There is an express entry thread. I'm sure you will get that information there. Here is not for express entry. Thanks for stopping by.

IT security is what i want to pursue in Canada. please have you made any headway? i need to know
oohunt:
Do we have any IT professionals that can share their experiences like:

* Your work experience in Nija.

* Did you have to do a Diploma course or certification to get a job in Canada?

* How long it took to get a job in IT?

* How quickly did you catch up at work?

* Have you ever been fired for not doing your job well?

* Did you switch careers from IT? To what and why? Was it a good decision?

I have done all sorts that I can easily classify under NOC 2171 - IT Consultant. Have done a bit a web development as well. However, my Masters degree is in Web Technologies and Security. Anyone with IT Security experience in Canada?? I am wondering if this will be the right opportunity for me to develop that part of my career.

I had a wonderful reading experience. Now i am already feeling like i am in canada. i so love that country. My immigration process started since 2006 october. 11 years after i am still pursuing my dream. I hope it comes to logical conclusion this year. i just did my meds and update. I will be back to ask more questions when my visa is granted and trust me as soon as my visa is granted, i am off to canny. will not spend a day more in naija.

gotta run.

I was pleasantly surprised to come back to see the thread is now on its 10th page.

Sad to see that some questions are not relevant to the topic.

This leads to my question. Justwise, is it possible to get privileges to moderate this thread? It needs some cleaning up.

Thank you.

Distribution is my specialty...your Electrical technician is in what exactly...?
high voltage, industrial or low voltage e.t.c ..

2 years work visa.. do you mind telling us what category of visa.

Also...your qualifications wont likely be recognized.

To scale this hurdle, you would have to write evaluation exams and provide proof that you actually performed what you claimed on your resume or return to school.

Gudpm bro, pls I sent you a private message.. you will really be of great help to me if I discuss somethings with you so that I won't mk mistake

Thanks for all the information shared so far. God bless all contributors here. I am a canny hopeful too but yet to decide on province. However, I would like to add that contribution should also include accommodation cost - all types available in most cities. This will help in planning/decision as this is going to be the most expensive household spend on monthly basis. it will also help in planning for jobs when all factors are being considered prior to acceptance.

Seniors I hail o. Please i am into telecoms and hubby is a sales person, we have a Son 2yrs, pls what province will you advice we settle in as we do not have any family or friends in canny. A province that at least hubby can easily get a job.

2. When we land, how long must we stay before issued the PR card. Can we go back immediately if we cannot get a job immediately. We both plan to take leaves from our work and land first, prospect for jobs and go back i case we cannot get one immediately.

Seniors what do you advice? Thank you all.

Your husband would get a job in almost any province since he is into sales, as long as he is comfortable with targets.

PR cards could take between 6 weeks to 2 months to be received by post 'if' there are no issues with your submitted passport photographs. You can always go back anytime you want with your PR cards in your hands, but remember that you need to be in the country for a cumulative of 2 out of 5 years for your PR cards to be eligible for renewal.

mr salford... I really commend you for the nice work pls I need you to direct me on something... I'm a graduate of Electrical electronic engineering with HND, currently doing my Nysc but I applied for this resident visa through FSW, but my issue is as I don't Hv any work experience yet the only one I had was during my one year IT.. my question now is there any chance of I getting a job like entry level in any engineering firm there if eventually I get a resident permit.. cn I be employed with my HND without doing any other certification for now
My reply to your question is embedded in the post you quoted. Just read in between the lines bro.
