Till then. I had a budget of $130 and had to buy a Doogee Y6 instead of a Redmi 4x because of it. An SD device would cost me 3-5k extra worth of data every month, which may not look like much but adds up over time.

True, but you can change the imei of Xiaomi SD phones. I did that for my redmi 4x and I'm using airtel on it.

If your are expecting a refund, you would get it at the new bank rate.. I am 100% sure, it has happened to me severally. I got go a refund of $12.44 I was refunded at the new GTB bank rate.
