OlowoB:

Yes it is accepted but I suggest you inform your school that it is NARIC you will be using cos your school has to validate and accept it.

Ok thanks @olowoB. But if the school accept and validate it what about the UK embassy because I heard that English language assessment is needed at the ukvi for tier 4 general visa?

Not needed, once you have been assessed by the school, then you are good to go.

Good morning house,

Please I need your advice.
I intend going to the UK next year for my masters studies, and my friend is the one sponsoring me. Everything from tuition, accommodation, and all.

1. Heard if it's not a family member sponsoring you, that might be a problem. Is that true?

2. It's a one year program, how much do I need to have in my own account?

3. Do i need present a 6 months bank statement?

Please advise on how to proceed.

Thanks alot.

Pls JUSTWISE, what truly does this mail clarify? HAVE SOMEONE RECEIVED THIS MAIL AND STILL HAVE HIS VISA APPROVED? I submitted my documents and did my biometric on 18th April and had my interview on 20th April and was now waiting for decision to be made by UKVI until I got this mail below today.

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

Sheffield Visa Section

They will contact you when they are done with processing your application, if you read this thread and others related to UK visa you will see this type of email, its very common and it does not mean that your application will be refused or successful.

You are going for masters program so you should do more research independently most especially since the answers have been provided on the first page of this thread.

Let me help you with 1 and 3, find the answer to question 2 yourself, it is on the first page.

(1) use your parents account or your own account or legal guardian account. If your freind wants to help you, let him send the money to your own account.

(3) just a statement of account for 28 days of the required amount in your fathers name or your own account or legal guardians account name.(this depends on if you are studying in London or outside London)

Please note, if you use parents account, you must get a letter from your parents giving you access to use the funds and also birth certificate as proof of relationship.

Thanks a lot @ OlowoB and Justwise. Sorry I had to ask questions that you've already answered on this forum. I went all the way back to start reading the questions and follow up answers. Found most of what I was looking for. Stressful, but well worth it.

If I happen to have any question not covered, will ask. @OlowoB, i'll be studying in London.

Thanks again.God bless you.

If London, then the money you will have to show for maintenance funds will be higher than other parts outside London. The money to show is on the first page of this thread.

You are welcome bros.

Is it possible to work on paid internship with Tier 4 visa?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by mimilyrics: 9:34pm On May 16, 2017
Hi @justwise, @Spikec.

Kudos for the good job you guys have been doing. I've actually followed the thread from part one. Been up most nights trying to absorb all the necessary info.

I'm on the September 2017 student intake and I'll be fully sponsored by a multinational company. My letter should be ready in a few weeks. my CAS is currently being processed. Pls are there any guidelines to follow? I noticed that most of the other posters here mainly applied using their own accounts or their parents.

There's been one UK visit visa refusal but I've been to the US after the refusal and still have a valid US visa.

Thank you.

Yes, it is. Number of hours depends on if it's part of your course and if it's during term time or not.

Did you send the sponsorship letter to your school?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by mimilyrics: 10:59am On May 17, 2017
Not yet. I won't be getting it till like May 25. When applying for the visa, do I just go with one addressed to the BHC or to whom it may concern? Do I need any explanation as to why I'm being sponsored? Because I honestly just sent a request to the company and they accepted to.

Thank you.

No you need to send it to your school as part of your admission package and they will include that in your CAS
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by mimilyrics: 3:50pm On May 17, 2017
Oh! Okay. Thanks so much. I will send it to my school as soon as I collect it. Should it be addressed to my school or just 'to whom it may concern' since that's what I'd be using for my visa application? And is there a format for addressing the letter? So I can let them know.

I'll keep you posted as to how it goes.

PS: This thread has been so informative and I've learnt so much in just a few days of stumbling on it.

The rate and charges are two different things. Banks get the money they send for students (form A) from CBN even at a profit already. The sending charge shouldn't be more than 10k. I used to be around that. Right now, they are just taking advantage of the forex scarcity to inflict more pains
totally right, bro.
