The glory days has been slammed upon the low places... How are the mighty fallen, tell it not in Gath, published it not in the streets of 9ja lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice against us.

its not about the number of years bruh.....but if so then u forgot legendary "FELA" ....sunny Ade abeg don't lemme start listing names....you might feel those are legends and i respect your opinion but for me its "Fela" "tuface" "MI" "psquare"...... mode9 is good but I'll still rate vector over him cos i feel his lines way more than mode's ......mi is something else , a phenomenon.....thats ma 2cents ...peace
You are not a real hardcore fan or you don't know what you are saying, how can you rate vector over Mode 9(please stop it).Vector is better but Mode 9 is the best(take it or leave it),go and listen to his albums without sentiment like:Da vinci mode,Insulin,Pentium ix the mixtape,E pluribus unum,Above ground level volume 1 and 2,The paradigm shift,Malcolm ix etc.

Pay attention to the lyrics, punchlines, forget about the rhythm or beat.

Also talking about music legends, you goofed with your list, don't say what you don't know. There are many legends in Nigeria from different ethnic groups, the list is endless.Go and do more research on this topics, thank me later#cheers

Short black boi... eccentric rapper
bumi10:
Its Chocolate City Music CEO, Jude Abaga, a.k.a M.I recently visited Jay Z's Roc Nation office while in New York City, USA.

The Nigerian rapper was seen with top executives of Roc Nation including Lenny Santiego - A&R to Jay-Z & Jason Kpana- head of Tidal.

Recall that last year when Tiwa Savage and Don Jazzy made a similar trip, she got a management deal with Roc Nation afterwards.

I don't know why some people keep saying Mode 9 is a better lyricist than MI. What's the basis for the judgement? I think people are choosing based on who entered the industry first, not on who is actually better. Mode 9 was great, Mi was phenomenonal. MI changed the game and started the rap revolution in Nigeria. He still remains the only Nigerian Artiste I have never ever thought about overlooking his albums. I waited so much for Vector's album but it turned out to be so trashy....Falz did better than him sef. Wait, them dey do that Vector from hin village abi? He's too good for his career to be so stuck undecided

Mode 9 was our best and becouse of some sheet and mess rappers una disrespect and dissapoint am. Mi was enjoying every bit of the humiliation mode 9 had to pass thru even though he was a good rapper himself. Now see how the cookie crumbles. See how Jay z and Nas use style reconcile then technically make themselves with Diddy form committee of Kings. Nobody be oga na dem all be oga and their respect and money dey gather. Mi go back and get Mode 9 on board and you two should resurrect rap and your careers back. All this forming CEO no fly at all. If you get bars and you are Hot on the street you go put CEO matter as secondary and doing Rap as primary. Nas and Jigga na CEO but they are lyrically still popping. CEO of how many banging artiste?
Wrong place to post this bro......MI won't see this hia! Or do I look like a fvcking rapperhuh

All hail the symbol, the mark, the emblem, the banner, the definition, the alpha and omega of African rap. i swear my children and grand children must play listen to M.I.
M.I music gave me a reason to live when life's burden seemed too heavy to bear.

i remember making a choice to continue with life just so i can atleast keep playing M.I.

the legends part you are right....that's what i meant by "don't lemme list names" they are many....but i have my personal list of em n dey aren't more than the four i mentioned.......

as for the Vector - modo thang ......i used to think mode was wack till i listened to. his ruggesman diss track(can't remember the name tho) but i just don't feel him.....i don't rate rappers by punchlines alone, the ability to destroy a beat at the same time as he is churning our murderous punchlines is a remarkable thing.....that's exactly what gave kingkong that edge over other songs @2015 headies...u have to be able to prwpare ur punchlines to desecrate any beat thrown @u.......and please i don't think you've listened to vector,he sings and raps, listen to his rap tracks and you'll find vector to be one of the most intelligent rapper around ...lemme recomemend "truth" *a mode9* diss track that was leaked, done by vector tha viper....listen without sentiments and you'll be amazed at how one can carry out murder with so much calm. . .....

NOTE:: i don't feel modo doesn't mean he isn't good , his rap just doesn't appeal to me that's all ......

Thank God I have seen people that I share school of thought with, currently in Nigeria 'hip hop is dead' what we hear now are unnecessary noise and no content music. I love hip hop that's why I have M. I Abaga 's first and second album as a monument, I also have illegal music 3 album because that short black boy is super dope. Mode 9 is good but M. I is the definition of hip hop undiluted.
The truth is that if M. I Abaga could have been an American hip hop artist, I swear down he would have been having a great competition with the likes of Nas. But down here a large number of people don't like good stuff always addicted to trash, but for me I will always celebrate my legends. Peace!

Bros don't let ignorance take the better part of you grin. FYI: Kendrick Lamar is a very big inspiration to MI. Isaiah Rashad is following the footsteps of kendrick lamar. So you get my drift. Incase you don't know kendrick lamar? He's the biggest Hip Hop head in the world right now. Both in making hip hop, ratings and revenue. Do your findings biko
