How many of you felt sick in the stomach watching that game (at 0vs0 scoreline) when Simon wasted that chance with Ideye free beside him? And yes, Simon moses was once very much hyped too.

Please tell if Onyekuru does different in similar situation? He too does not pass and he doesn't play with his head up.
These coaches i.e Rohr see these subtle things we refuse to acknowledge hence their reluctance to invite sone of these players we hype and clamour.

And yes Belgium is BACK WATER.... rated according to their performances in Europa or Champions league. Even the Dutch with the likes of Ajax rate above Belgium.

Well like Mikael2 and tbaba1234 stated, I would have to watch him play and not base my conclusions on highlights......
Even though I'm pretty sure 90% of people hyping him here also concluded from highlights.

Much congrats to him though. I'd love to see him in the mix of the eagles.

But I just want to correct the notion of seeing a player full of speed and dribbles and suddenly hyping him beyond clouds.

Oduamadi, simon, Babatunde, Ejike Uzoenyi, Musa (yes Musa too was banging in goals in Russia) etc....

We never get tired. Many of us have not learnt to understand technical players and those who will go far from the onset. Even club scouts give us a hint when big teams table bids for the gems (Osimhen, Nacho, Mikel when he was younger) while Mid to bottem level players like Westham come after our hypees........

Conclusion:
All in all, we pray for the best for these boys and we pray they keep on progressing.....
But hyping a player beyond what he is.....is doing ourselves disservice.

Hyping a player who continues to put the ball in the back of the net is normal. He is currently the highest goal scorer in Belgium. He keeps delivering. What is there not to hype? No one is calling him a Lionel Messi but he deserves the attention, he is getting.

There are two extremes, over hyping and Dismissing..

You are on the other extreme. Football is about results and so far this season, Onyekuru has produced results. Dismissing that will fall flat every time.

I have watched Onyekuru, several times. I am not basing my opinions on a highlight reel. He certainly has enormous potential.

I do not understand why you are showing clips of Simon Moses to prove a point about Onyekuru. Has Simon Moses scored 23 goals this season? Does that not already show you a difference in their play.

Ronaldo is Selfish, Thierry Henry was selfish, Lionel Messi also goes on selfish runs.. No one complains when they are producing results. Onyekuru is producing results. Bottom line.

In Fabrice Ondoa of Sevilla, they have one of Africa's best Goalies now alongside Ajax's Andre Onana.

Ofcos, Ikeme trumps them but he is injured and Alampasu and Emma Daniel are two Young Nigerian goalies who belong to Ondoa's and Onana's generation and can rival the two young Cameroonians depending on how much they keep progressing.

The real deals for the near future are Daniel and Alampasu for now until another joins that bracket of special rising Naija Goalies for this growing generation of the Super Eagles.




In their Defence, They have Teiku, Ngadjui and co.... yes their clubsides are not as reputable as Mainz of Germany or even KAA Gent or Chelsea but uhmmm.... don't be too quick to write them off okay.... Truth is Nigeria commands a fearsome array of talents and a really scary squad albeit a very young one still gelling... but we must not underrate the Camerounians.

In the French ligue 1, They have Their Talisman and inspirational Captain, Benjamin Moukandjo of Lorient whose goals helped his team stay up I think. He is one to watch..... he alongside that Vincent Aboubakar lad of Besiktas (formerly of Porto) and Bassogog who is surprisingly china-based now.... (I remember when I dropped a news on that I think many pages back... me or someone did).



So in conclusion.... Cameroun are African champs so we must accord them that little respect. And I say "little" because if we pay them huge or too much respect, it will make us overly cautious... and I don't want that... we need our team to be daring and have that "Kick these guys' asses and show them they are nothing" attitude which translates into a kind of fearlessnesses that will make us get pass the so-called "Cameroun becomes a different animal when they see Nigeria" anthem and beat these Camerounians for good, better and the best....


So it matters not where the camerounians play... they gave the rest of Africa the middle finger when they defied the odds and won their fifth title with majority of same players from "Backwater leagues/clubs"

Let us just focus on our game and beat them silly. I just wanna humble the African Champs....

This is well articulated dude. Though i still believe nff ineptitude cost us the last nations cup. How do u engage an Oliseh with no experience and call him african Guardiola? That was the beginning of our woe. If we had Gernot Rohr or even a siasia who started the qualifiers, there's no way we wouldn't have qualified for the nations cup and probably win the tournament with our sharp players. Our plan is to beat them here in Nigeria and garner 9 points while they remain on 2. Even if we lose in Yaounde, we will still have 9 point while they have 5, Zambia comes, we trash them and sit on 12 points. If they beat Algeria, they will have 8 and even if we lose our last match to algeria, we will still be on 12 points and if they defeat zambia in the last match, they will have 11 points while we qualify with our 12 points. The game plan here is just to beat them here at home.

you even went ahead and called the names of players that did not live up to their hypes and forget those that live up to their hypes

osimhen is one of the most hype player here so i don't see what is wrong hyping our players

payet play for west ham and was one of the best player for france at euro

onyekuru is been hype here because of his goals not for his speed or dribbles

and if ideye did not score after receiving the pass or if he had score, you will not said what you just said

Bros your argument is baseless, all players have been hyped one way or the other so that doesn't make a difference, comparing simon's error to onyekuru is uncalled for, I know u liked oshimen but he also has not been tasted in the super eagles just like onyekuru so they both have to compete, but based on form and performance currently onyekuru edges him out, a good coach will always pick form when selecting. Also know that awoniyi have a better form than oshimen this season and I see no reason why he is not selected ahead of oshimen.

The young Nigerian has been linked with a move to West Ham United .

According to a recent report from Own Goal Nigeria , West Ham United have won the race to sign Henry Onyekuru from Eupen, and if the news is true it would be the best piece of business Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has done in quite some time.


Last summer was supposed to see a number of quality additions arrive at the London Stadium to supplement the likes of Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini. Instead West Ham fans watched bemused as the likes of Simone Zaza, Havard Nordtveit, Alvaro Arbeloa and Jonathan Calleri turned up.

It was not the impressive transfer window the Hammers faithful were expecting, nor anything close to the previous summer, when Bilic most certainly got it right.

However, if West Ham do indeed bring Onyekuru to the club it would be a very encouraging sign for the rest of the window.

After all, the 19-year-old is one of the most exciting teenagers in European football right now, scoring 22 goals and providing nine assists in 40 matches for his current club this season.

Predominantly a left winger but also able to operate on the opposite flank, as a secondary striker or a centre forward, the young Nigerian is the real deal, and his early arrival would lay down a marker for the signings to come.

He may not be the biggest name yet he has bags of potential, and the great and the good of football will know that.

It is time Bilic started building a side that can be successful for years to come, and Onyekuru's capture could be key to that endeavor.

IMO west ham is the best option because he will be sure of playing time. Koeman and Henry is a fight waiting to happen just ask Ross.

Osimhen on and off due to Injury?? Wetin you mean by on and off? Osimhen just played his first bundesliga game last week or so and was very impressive for the 39mins+ that he featured.

Lad was injured and that alone delayed his debut for Wolfsburg. So I don't get this your on-and-off song....

I hope Henry blends in shaa and work in beautiful tandem with the other players but we would love to see him go on a few of those mazy runs too for results sake... and I pray they pay off.

We gotta have more daring dynamism mehn.... another weapon to unleash in tight corners.

But bottomline.... I hope like Neymar at Barca, he learns to play with his Eagles teammates and balance out when he goes solo and when he links up with his mates.

You still haven't explained what made oshimen special to be invited, from your point of view it is simply favoritism or overhyped. I get your points..... but you must know that Henry is a little different from the typical wingers we parade in Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa.

Henry is a bona fide Wing forward with goals in his tank. His end result is quite impressive for one so young and playing his first professional topflight football after his first season in the Belgian second division with same club the season before.



And yes... the issue of Slot.... well.... I have already talked on that before as regards why Osimhen merits his call. If you were here several pages back, you will know my stand on Osimhen. Osimhen is highly gifted and not your everyday kinda 9 who just pops up... lad is genuinely special and Rohr is no fool to keep calling him to camp to keep giving him that senior team exposure so as to get acclimatised to the pressures and feels of Senior team football when his super talents are ready to be unleashed for the Eagles (only when Rohr says he is ready).



So In all, I get your points but I also wish you can try spot the difference(s) between Henry and the likes of Simon and Musa. He is kinda different compared to them and I hope he proves his call right as time goes on in the national team.


And about Belgium being backwaters.... well.... all I gotta say is, same league produced Ndidi who has taken the EPL by storm.... same league also produced Leon Bailey who is doing his thing for Bayer Leverkusen.

Same league produced Courtois who went on to do great things for Atletico madrid before he came to displace Cech at Chelsea.

Don't underrate the quality that comes out season after season from Belgium. It is a good league... not among the top 7 in Europe but definitely a good league.

We never get tired. Many of us have not learnt to understand technical players and those who will go far from the onset. Awaziem Spotted With Liverpool Scout After Scoring For Porto Against Sunderland In Cup Final

FC Porto Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem was spotted in the company of a scout from Liverpool after their 5 – 0 win over Sunderland in the International Premier League Cup.

Awaziem nodded home the fifth goal for Porto in their big win at the stadium of light, but shortly after the game he was spotted with a scout from Liverpool. A team he was linked with recently.

Liverpool are reportedly keeping close watch on the 20 year old defender, who is a senior international for Nigeria owing to his meteoric rise to the first team of Porto in just 18 months.

Although he has failed to add to the 10 league appearances he made for the first team last season, Awaziem has played 35 games for the B team who are campaigning in the second division in Portugal.

He has a buy out clause of €20m inserted the contract extension he signed with FC Porto last season after making his breakthrough.

I think he would get playing time at Everton if Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku leave at the end of the season, as being rumored.

In addition, the primary reason why I want him to make Everton his first choice, Koeman has demonstrated (at Sothhampton and Everton) that he knows how to develop young players....turn average players into very good ones. Not all coaches can do that.

And by the way, wetin happen btw Koeman and Barkley? Do you wanna share?
