Imagine you have a potential contract on ground to supply some equipment to a certain state in Nigeria with a potential of 1000-2000 supplies. You have direct access to the manufacturer of the equipment and each landing cost is around 100k-200k per one.

The plan is to agree on a particular equipment design/model based on function of their (clients) needs which should be brought to them for review. After review, interested parties will indicate how many PCS that is needed.

The sample can be acquired BUT the money for the whole 1000-2000 pcs isn't available considering that only part payment will be offered until goods are delivered and since this is the first encounter, trust hasn't been established.

Getting a loan is out of the question and so, how would you proceed wherein your money is not enough to cover the other part of the whole transaction should the clients pay just 50 percent.

Thought one: According to my bros who said : Tell them you do not have the money fulfill the transaction so that they can drop more than enough.

Thought two: I came up with idea to inform them that they can pay what they feel comfortable with while we purchase them in batches until the total equipment is complete. They have a relative here who actually linked us to them. So I thought that if they pay whatever they are comfortable with, we can purchase the equipment with just that amount, stock in my house and call the relative of the client to verify and inform them that the equipment are on ground. We can either deliver those ones first or ask them to bring more money to buy more until the whole quantity ordered is complete so that we can transport everything at once.

Nairalanders, what do you think? I need suggestions that can help secure the deal.

Thanks in advance.

Now, since getting alone is out of the window, how will you execute?

ikbnice:
Suppoy in batches
the distance between states (South West to The South East) is another financial constrain but I think supplying in batches is ideal in this case
