Hello VO,

As a K1 visa applicant, am I gonna be informed of my interview date by the consulate before going for medical or I just do everything and fix a date myself??

Thanks

You will be provided extensive directions on how to proceed once your interview date is set.

Dear VO,
Your response was deeply appreciated!
No! It has happened since August last year
(2016) and I haven't been able to write back to the embassy here in Lagos but am available to entertain any conversation based on the revocation letter now..
Plz advice me on what to do now?
Thanks for bn there .

If you have a revocation letter, you need to contact USCIS. The Consulate no longer has jurisdiction over your case. You should wait a few weeks to contact USCIS as it will take time to reach the United States from Lagos.

Goodday VO.

I recently got married to my girl friend who is a USC on the 19th april 2017 at ikoyi registry. We are in the process of submitting the petition to USCIS but i am curious, i will like to know if its imo chats, sceenshots of video and audio calls are enough as eveidence of communication? We dont use normal phone calls because of the cost since we talk for long and imo is better. Though i lost some of our chats and video screen shots for last year. Hope this wont be a problem?

Since you do not yet have an approved petition, this is a question for USCIS.

Helly dear consular officer
I live in Hungary and i have a girlfriend who lives in Houston we met online
Our situation is i tried to apply for a B2 visa sooner but that time i didnt know this girl so i told the officer i dont know anyone in the usa becuase i had an esta but somehow it got revoked cuz i ask some help from a man and they didnt find something good with him so they denied my B2 visa as well under 214b
But the thing is i get to know a girl who lives in houston (problem i wanted to go there for the first time too but i understand its not really believable that i didnt know her that time) and we really like eachother we even going to meet in mexico having fun but she have 3 kid and a stable job i would like to get a K1 visa becuase im willing to do marriage w her but i dont want the B2 denial affect my K1 visa it was like a year ago and i just wanna be with her even if the circumstances are weird and i never tought its gonna be like this but i never find a girl like her ever and i dont wanna loose her so thats why we tought about K1 visa she even told me shes with me trough this whole process and if i need she can provide as long as i can start working for me just she really scared of flying thats why we decided to meet in mexico but a relationship like this is not the 100% one and she cant come to hungary cuz shes super scary cat about planes and i dont wanna force her to do something what she doesnt want and was so scared about and she thinking about her kid so what are my chances to get a K1 visa and what should we do cuz i really dont wanna live without her anymore i even gonna propose her in mexico just need to find a way to be uniqe i dont want a simple one and she dont wanna married in mexico cuz of her family.
Im really serious with her i even willing to put my signature on a paper that says if i break up with her i can leave the country i dont care that part really
But i dont know what to do so i would like to ask your advice in this thanks for your reply
Kind Regards Sir

I cannot give you immigration advice. I especially cannot give you relationship advice. You should consult with an immigration attorney.

Hello VO,
Thank you so much for the good work you are doing here. My husband had his interview on may 3rd and he was told by the consular officer that his case needs further administrative processing which will take like 60 days.
Now my question is this, is the 60 days includes weekends or is it 60 business days?
I'm just so curious to know please because I got pregnant when I came to see him last November and I will be due soonest.
That's why I want him here before I deliver because it's not an easy task to be a single mom here.

Consular officers have the right and the authority to request any documents from you which they feel are relevant to adjudicating your case. This might seem frustrating to you, but know that it is done for your benefit. It is actually good that they are keeping on top of your case by requesting documents on a regular basis.

VO

Administrative processing can take much shorter or much longer than 60 business days. It is merely a guideline. If you do not hear from us after 60 days, feel free to write at the email address you were given on your letter.

This doesn't make sense to me. You know that you are posting a non-immigrant visa question on an immigrant visa forum and yet you still posted the question?

Further, you are debating whether or not to list your children on your official application for a U.S. visa?

And then you ask for your chances of getting such a visa when there are literally hundreds of posts on the non-immigrant forum that expressly state that we do not give out chances?

In two years, I don't think I've ever seen such a brazen disregard for forum rules and etiquette.

Hello VO,

Thank you for doing a great job in this forum.
I am a Permanent resident living in the US since 2013, I came back to Nigeria in December 2014 to get married to my wife and had filed an F2A petition for my wife in February 2015. I visited again in December 2015 and we had our baby in September 2016. I added a derivative to our case. However my wife has now been schedule for interview next month (June 2017) and I seen in the embassy specific interview requirement does not say a DNA test has to be done, but I learnt from someone who had gone through this interview in the past that her family was asked to do a DNA test after attending the IV interview and this ended up delaying the issuance of their VISA.
Please as a precaution to avoid this delay can my wife go ahead and do the DNA test when doing their medical or will the DNA requirement be determined by the CO during the interview?
Also our daughter is not bearing the same last name as me and my wife, instead she is having my middle name as her last name, as we decided to discontinue the use of our last name for our children, will this be an issue?
Please your response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you smiley

Dear VO,

Original documents from my petitioner is requested at the interview according to the package sent to me.

He said all originals including my birthday certificate were submitted to USCIS and same has been forwarded to the Consulate in Nigeria, also that it will be given to me at the interview.

Please my question is, is the above stated possible?

Thank you.

Please I had my visa application successful on the 17th may and my docs are not ready at my DHL pick up center. I checked the status and I saw this....

Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than 10 working days, please see the webpage for contact information of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application.

Any reason why it's taking this long?

A copy of the receipt page is required when coming for my interview. How do I get the receipt page from ceac.state.gov? so that I can print it.
Thank you.

I won the DV lottery 2018 I think the autofill must to corrected the country of changeability used to my address in Australia. I was born in Europe so is not from the same region. The rules indicate that I disqualify as I don't have a valid claim for this country, as I was not born in AUS, I just want to know if the CO has the power to overlook this if I decide to go to the interview, I can show very strong financial support and all the rest of requirements. I understand that is pretty much a lost case, but I just want to know if there is any hope... I called the KKC and they said that the CO will have to decide, I am not sure they can do that.
Thanks in advance

Good day,
Please I have a nagging problem that has kept me up most nights. I have a fiance in the US who I plan on getting married to, she has come visiting once and all went well.
I applied for a US tourist visa in a few months and said I was married to her and was denied visa after a brief interview. Now she is proposing for a K1 fiance visa application which of course will be in contradiction to my previous application at the consulate.
Please what solution can u proffer to lift this bottleneck.
I know I should have gone through the K1 first, I was completely naive of the process.
In addition I used my surname in place of hers for spouse's full name and address and place of Origin was Nigeria as I thought mine would suffice in the eventuality of marriage.
Your speedy response will be profoundly appreciated.
Thank you.

Good Evening V.o,
Pardon me for I suspect a question like this must have been asked before.
what is the implication of a wrong year of birth in a visa lottery application. Just a visa lottery application, no actual thumb printing or visa interview followed.
now with filling the correct age on the passport on a new visa application, will the previous wrong information be of any threat?
