Nigeria shall be great!!

It doesn't make any sense. Even in other countries, teachers don't earn higher wages than other workers. They get paid well though. Very well. If what he is saying is true, it defeats the purpose of what and who a teacher is. Same with Soldiers. You cannot pay a Soldier so much money even though they put their lives on the line. But you do have to pay them well.

I welcome this development wholeheartedly. If not for teachers, those who collect huge salaries from federal and state government won't be there to collect such salaries.
Re: "Teachers To Earn Higher Salaries Than Other Workers" - Minister by Harwoyeez(m): 9:10am On May 26, 2017
Are u a teacher for real?
fastgyal:
This is very good.
I AM A TEACHER
I am a teacher not because I went to college
Not because I am taught how to teach
Not because I am paid salary
Not because I have to teach to live
Not because there are no 'better jobs'
Not because I'm compelled.
Not because I want to be called Sir/Ma.
I AM A TEACHER because it is my CALLING.

Sometimes I look at my certificate, my school, my pupils as I compare it with my salary, I laugh
When I look at what I teach, how i teach it, I thank God for taking me through college.

But when I sit down and look at the past, how the end has been for some teachers as compared to other professionals, I feel sorry for the profession.

But when I remember that it is the TEACHER that produces all other professionals, I feel blessed.

I am SATISFIED when I see my students becoming useful to the society.

I conclude that teaching is not just my job,
It's my CALLING.
It's my PURPOSE.
I feel proud being a Teacher.
I LIVE to TEACH!!!
"from a very young teacher"

Be dreaming. Na today e don tey we dey hear this one. Nigeria will be great is an old that even generations unborn will still be hearing but will never live to see it like u. Make I see if after increasing teachers salary if they will be able to pay. Common N18,500 minimum wage states are still owing.
Just yesterday the senate expressed their hopelessness over the power sector.
https://www.nairaland.com/3819720/no-hope-nigeria-power-sector
That is how it is with the health and educational sectors that is y they go abroad fir treatment and their kids school abroad. What a show of their faithlessness of the country they govern. After Saraki wud come and flaunt Aba made shoes telling us to patronize anything in Nigeria.
Look accept the truth Nigeria is forever doomed that even the Devil has more hope of making heaven than for Nigeria to ve better.
Other nations have moved light years ahead u re here talking of will be great. It was not great when oil was $100/barrel which meant more money not for development but for embezzlement with impunity by the elite. Pls wake up from ur very deep slumber. Nigeria and greatness or development are like parallel lines that wud never ever meet.

This Adamu Adamu should be sacked. A PhD teaching in primary school because of money is not going to find fulfilment. Copying Malaysia, an Islamic country because you are a Muslim will put the country in a reverse gear. Why not copy European countries making technological / educational breakthroughs in all fronts.

I am beginning to believe that there are some errors in Buhari ministerial appointments.

Well, I don't really understand the context of the statement because based on this, a teacher with NCE may end up earning higher than a medical doctor, I doubt.

However, if a teacher with B Ed earns higher than other professionals, hmm, okay oh!

It is much more easier to be a qualified teacher than to be a medical doctor and the simple law of demand and supply is very natural.

If what they are saying is improved remuneration for teachers, then very understandable but higher than other workers?

Infact, it can't even work.
