Please guys, does anyone know if its illegal for internationals on F1 visa to own and use bitcoin in the US? I'm beginning school in August in Minnesota and I invest on bitcoins. I just want to know if I'd be violating any laws. Please, anyone with info. |

Philian112:Stay Tourist visa is for a short stay and not for immigration purpose. Your elder sister is the type that makes visas difficult for genuine tourists, infact if she does that, you and your other siblings should say bye bye to America. She has not gotten the visa yet and she is already talking of extention, assuming the visa is granted, on what grounds will she apply for an extension? 13 Likes |

Mbamto:The kind of gross exaggerations that go on here is quite alarming. In as much as u want to correct someone.... There is no point also lying to correct someone. I really don't know how she breaking immigration rules affects her family or siblings. Its her cross if she is caught and deported and that doesn't stop anyone else from applying. Philian112:The type of questions i have been seeing here makes me wonder if common sense really do exists in this country again. Your sis have not even gotten a visa, you are already on a public forum asking how to break Visa rules. Tmr u will say village people are pursuing u. 21 Likes |

Exaggeration Recall, while filling the DS160, you filled your parents data, and also you will answer the question of if you have an immediate relative in the US. You cannot lie about immediate relative cos you share same parents data. The VO will think you want to go same route as your sister, what next You need the strongest ties and prayers to cross the high hurdles of convincing the VO. That is a fact. The sins of your siblings catch up with you, unless you want to misrepresent (much more dangerous) progress69: 3 Likes |

progress69: forgive me jumping in but look at this excerpt from another thread. jesusfriend1: VISA APPROVED (20/10/16).I got to the embassy in Abuja around 8:am cos my interview was scheduled for 9:am. I sat down on a chair i paid #200 for and started singing Way Maker by Sinachi, that song didn't leave my mouth till i got into the interview room.It kept my nerves in check and boosted my faith.I got on the line and everyone in front of me was denied, one albino who brought his mother in law for interview got his visiting visa cancelled, the V.O said his wife was leaving in the US illegally.Me i kept saying my case is different cos i be God pikin. It finally got to my turn o.Me:good morning(not sure if he answered).............V.o why are you going to NYFA) ME:It provides intensive training in a short amount of time,it focuses on hands on learning experience as classes are held in studio sets similar to the one used by broadcasters the world over)..........V.o cuts in:how did you find out about this school).......Me: i usually go thru the profile of the people i look up to to have a clear sense of what their journey is about and a couple of them had gone to NYFA,so i did my google research).........V.o:who are some of these people? )..........Me: i mentioned the names)...........V.o:did you apply to other schools).......Me:yes,university of Georgia and Wichita state university).........V.o: why didn't you go to Georgia?.....Me:i was about saying why i chose NYFA again but he said no,i said why didn't u go to Georgia,i now said cos its not as hands on as NYFA)......V.o:what do you do now)........Me:i finished my NYSC in may and i was working for the orientation broadcasting service and i still work with them voluntarily,i have been going on auditions too).....V.o:auditions for what)......Me(to be a T.v presenter,he nodded)......V.o:have you travelled out of Nigeria before?).........Me: i said i have not had the need to)......V.o: who will pay for this).......Me: i got an $8000 scholarship and my elder bro would pay the rest). The V.o was now looking so confused like he was looking for what to ask me(i knew it was God at work)he just gave me the 2white papers. My prayer before the interview was that my bank statement should not be checked cos the money was not enough and it was printed in july,i studied accounting but I'm going for broadcast journalism.God did it.Thanks to everyone and walspring for helping with my sevis fee payment.God is the answer to it all. 19 Likes |

Mbamto: Lol.Where y'all got ur assumptions and fake informations from...only God knows. That people don't lie about relatives abroad is the figment of your imaginations. U should stop arguing about things u av little knowledge about. One of the lies told after monthly income is not having a relative abroad. Most have the wrong notion that indicating u have a relative abroad reduces ur chances while others click the No cos they really don't know the status of the so called relative. I really dont know how this is related to the argument cos it was about u telling someone they should forget about America for life if their sister breaks immigration laws. That ones sister broke immigration laws and was deported does not deter any of her relatives from applying and getting a visa except he or she committed a terror related offence where proper vetting will be done before visa can be issued to a relative of such. As a matter of fact Most of the non criminal deportations just carry a ban of 5 years after which such can apply for a visa again. If u think there is a computer program not to even mention a human VO that actually check if any of ur relatives have been deported for a non criminal offence like just breaking visa rules...all i can do is LOL. For ur info once anyone has gained entry...its is very difficult to be deported just like that especially if the individual have not committed any serious criminal offence....cos he/she still have a right to an immigration lawyer and an immigration hearing. Some of this hearings takes years. No one is encouraging anyone to break visa rules.....but correcting wrong notions is also Paramount. Why trying to talk some sense into clowns that ask funny questions publicly u don't need to exaggerate and pass wrong info in the process. 8 Likes |

progress69:. Na internet. Who has time to be looking if one of ur sisters have been sent back before. What if u don't bare same surname cos of marriage or what if u had a change of name. They only go through all this stress in countries on terrorist watch where serious vetting are done. Even at the point of entry, its mostly when u are flagged for secondary inspection they start finding out all this funny infos. If they have to be confirming every bodies siblings even with a computer, i wonder how long they will use per person both at the embassy and point of entry. The Queue go long pass 3rd mainland beidge. This whole America thing is really not a big deal as it is always painted by some people on NL. 3 Likes |

progress69: Having immediate relatieves that entered US through a legit way is ok, whether you list them or not, the VO knows cos details relating to your profile pops up. @ bolded, msrepresentation? When caught, you use another lie to cover and keep damaging your profile with the embassy, I understand, keep decieving your the gulible ones. no more replies from me, wehdone oo FrankNetter, please come yarn better story, quite entertaining |
