I was wondering if there are any Kanuri speakers on this forum? I know a lot of Kanuri speakers are sadly in conflict zones where Boko Harassholes are hiding out, but maybe there are some speakers on this forum?

Kanuri is a very unique language, it doesn't belong to the Afro-Asiatic language family like Hausa, Arabic, Berber, Somali, etc. , nor does it belong to the Niger-Congo language family like Yoruba, Igbo, Swahili, Twi, etc. It's in it's own family, the Nilosaharan languages.

Sadly a lot of these languages are spoken in conflict zones with Islamists and militants but since this is a Naija forum, maybe there are some speakers around here?

Other tribes in the north are overshadowed ny Hausa. I am glad that someone from the north can spk his language openly.

I moved round some northern states and I discovered that most pple dt spk Hausa are not Hausa native.

D distinctivess experience in the south is highly missing in the north. Pple are not jst proud to spk their native language openly

Everybody wnts to hide under Hausa
