To make it more lucid, 1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of DOUBLE HONOUR, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. kjv ESV says "Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of DOUBLE HONOR , especially those who labor in preaching and teaching." NIV says "The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of DOUBLE HONOR, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching." Is it not clear that it is an act of DOUBLE HONOR to get Pastors dignified sits or chairs, houses, cars, etc. What is unbiblical here? Besides, what is funny to you? See this again. 1 Thessalonians 5:12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 5:13 And to ESTEEM THEM VERY HIGHLY IN LOVE for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. Note "esteem them VERY HIGHLY". What's your problem with pastors being honored with just chair? Don't be Anti-Christ? |
