So I decided to try my hands on poetry today and I came up with this...

P.S-: I'm a science student and this is the first time I'm writing a poem so please take it easy on me , constructive criticisms only.

REGRETS

You look at the couch, the same red couch
On which she snuggled up with you even though you were a douche.
You gasp and tears trickle down your face,
She's no longer there and there's nothing to take her place.
You look at the dimly lit kitchen, the same kitchen
In which she prepared your favourite spicy Chicken.
You wipe the tears once more from your face,
She's no longer there and there's nothing to take her place.



You take a walk to the room, the same room
Where you made love to her on many nights.
Now your face is covered with gloom
Because she's no longer there and now you've lost all bragging rights.
You sit on the bed, the same bed
On which you saw her every morning.
Now it feels so cold like the body of the dead
Because she's no longer there and now you're mourning.



You start to remember those times
Those times you yelled at her for no reason
And called her fat and ugly.
Those times she cursed herself for loving you
And cried herself to sleep.
You remember those nights
Those nights you shared your bed with other women
And rubbed it in her face.



You grab the bottle of whiskey from the fridge
You gulp down it's contents and beg for death.
You wish you could jump off a bridge
Cause you can't handle the burden of regret.
If only you had appreciated her
If only you had treated her like the queen she was
At least now she's much happier,
Safe and smiling in the arms of Santoz.
