I've been using sony xperia smartphones since 2013, but now I'm tired of these guys. Don't get me wrong, the hardware is superb, the cameras are out of this world BUT
I mean com' on. Who uses the same design like forever? Sony! Smh.
Meanwhile, that's a story for another day, these are my only four reasons why I might switch to samsung for good.
1. No Service center For Sony in Nigeria : My sony z5 damaged and I've checked every phone repairer and they couldn't fix it! I began looking for a sony service center, then it dawn on me, there's none. I can't coman kill myself because i want to repair phone or fly to Japan to find out the problem, I dropped it.
2. Bad Resale value : Trying to sell my z5, and i was hearing 12k, 13k. Some were like "do sony make phones", my ear was paining me all through. I also dropped the idea of selling it.
3. Poor sales everywhere : I don't know what sony problem is but their smartphone sales is nothing to write home about. I cannot be using a phone and be feeling like am the only 1 in a million of people using it. Remember the always go with crowd ish? Enof said!
4. Nothing new! : Samsung and apple keep stimulating their customers with new development yearly but Sony?

Let me come and be going, Sony has better realign themselves or they've just lost one loyal customer.

There is a general Sony service centre at Apapa, Lagos. Not just for phones but general Sony products. I have a friend that once fixed his Sony xperia phone there.

The resale value is not that poor. Maybe because you have a bad phone. You can check the prices of used xperia here on nairaland.

People use xperia phones not just as common as Samsung or Apple phones. The band wagon effect.

The new xperia xz premium is arguably the best phone out there. You need to see reviews and comparisons on YouTube. The camera comes with a ground breaking technology.

manny the only problem sony have is design,keeping same design for almost all there phone,apart from that there device are superb....wait ooooooo z5 12k,abeg me dey here going for it 4 40k if only the device was not a replica..

Xperia XZ p might be the best smartphone but it still won't make any sale. Sony is sinking, i better dump them before it's to late.

I put up my Xperia Z5 compact for sale here and on olx and i got an offer as high as 75k. I refused to sell cos the phone is still under warranty and very clean. So i can say ur marketing skills is poor! The last Xperia i sold was Xperia ZL, i sold it for 60k 2yrs back. People respect Sony and what scares them away is mostly the price tag!

Xperia's uni-body design is getting old but its premium elegant feel has remained constant. Just because Samsung changed its looks doesnt mean Sony should. After all Iphone has remained the way it is and none of their fans complain.
