Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) Whistle Blowing Approach by deeoneX(op): 10:37pm On Jun 07, 2017
In view of the spate of building collapse in Lagos State and the attendant fatalities, loss of properties, bad reputations, setbacks amongst other things, the Lagos State Government through Lagos State Building Control Agency is making efforts to stem the tide.

The State Government has recently employed the services of about 350 professionals including engineers, architects, builders etc to extend the dragnet of monitoring illegal developments.

Another effort the State Government is exploring is that of "WHISTLE-BLOWING". In the spirit of ensuring a safer Lagos, LASBCA will appreciate your partnership with the Lagos State Government by whistle-blowing to tell us the On-going developments as well as distressed buildings in your area.

Your cooperation will be most appreciated.

If we start, 40% of the houses in Lagos will go.

First, they should make the process for getting permits and building approval easy, fast and transparent. People are likely to build better if they know government is aware.

All approved buildings should be assessed during construction.

I am sure 40% is gross over-exaggeration. Almost HALF of all lagos buildings. Kilode! grin

Meanwhile, the policy seems like a good one for the state

lol, 9ja's never disappoint. grin grin grin

I new it was just a matter of time before a state, local government, or other government establishments use the "WHISTLE BLOWING" slogan. grin grin grin

No state or local government saw the embarrassment, ridicule, safety risks, etc associated with using bike as a means of commercial transport until one governor banned it. Naturally all others copied. A state governor stated traffic control agency, then all others joined the bandwagon. grin grin grin
