Gurus in the house please assist ooo, I just got a notification that my PR application was canceled as incomplete due to a missing police certificate from Nigeria. I submitted this police certificate along with other police certificates. What can I do about this? I do not know how they can cancel the application even when the police certificate was present there.

@wunmi, you need to prioritize your immediate desires and ultimate goal. Your decision to get separated or divorced is a long term one that only you can decide. You are married at the moment and cannot at any point now or in the future apply as single. You would either apply as married, or legally separated or divorced. Unless you have a divorce settlement, you would be unable to apply under the category of divorced.
As long as you have a spouse, whether accompanying or not, he is required by IRCC to obtain a medical report and police clearance as part of your application process.
In my opinion, I think that if you do intend to migrate in the near future, it is easier to find a way around your domestic situation and get your spouse to get his medicals and pcc. I assume that if he intended to "illegally migrate" to the states then he really should have no squabbles supporting a Canadian pr app unless you are the one insisting that you would not list him as an accompanying spouse....In that case, he is sure to dig his heels in.
So you need to decide if you wanna compromise now and get your ducks in a row and migrate or if you wanna wait until you obtain a divorce before you go ahead. Nothing stops you from getting separated or divorced after you have migrated.

I recall there is a Nigerian immigration lawyer based in Toronto, he might be of assistance in giving advice on how best to navigate this situation. @Wunmi, I don't know him personally but I found his details online, you can contact him to seek his opinion, http://www.jblaw.ca/about-johnson-babalola.html

Be careful! The job functions are there to guide you. YOU MUST NOT COPY THEM WORD FOR WORD. Your boss should write your job functions in his own word but it must match closely to at least 70% of the job function of the NOC you have chosen.

I will advise you to read, don't rush, do your research so that you will not do things that will amount to misrepresentation or denial.

@mokaz

In addition, hope your supervisor's business card will not contradict the NOC code that you chose unless of course, it can be proven that the man has changed roles as well. It might not be easy to believe that a Cash Officer supervised a Commercial Banking Officer!

The point below is instructive for all intending applicants. The case leading to the decision was discussed extensively on page 327.

This Court has, moreover, repeatedly affirmed that visa officers have no obligation to notify applicants of inadequacies in their applications, or in material provided in support of applications: Hamza v. Canada (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration), 2013 FC 264 at para 24, 429 F.T.R. 93. What the duty of fairness does require is that officers provide applicants with the opportunity to respond to concerns related to the “credibility, accuracy or genuine nature” of information submitted: Obeta v. Canada (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration), 2012 FC 1542 at paras. 20-26, 424 F.T.R. 191.

If you're sure you submitted the police report with the fingerprint section attached, then write back to them stating you submitted a complete application. List every form and supporting document that you submitted to back up your position.

How do I write to them? Do I send it as a case specific enquiry?

mamacajah:
Hello all, I am new here and I have been reading some of the pages of the thread to meet up. Our plan is to move as a family latest January 2018. We have started the WES evaluation, still having issues with school verification for DH. Unfortunately I had not read this thread before starting the WES process, as we would have saved tones of monies on evaluating only our highest qualifications and faxing our certificates, but that's already done and we have to just go with it. I have copied the info on IELTS and we are practising and reading in preparation to do ours in Aug/Sept this year.

I have some concerns though that I need the gurus in the house to assist me with. on the NOC classification and marriage certificate job description, I need some clarity.

1. I got married in 2003 and at the time I was working as a Logistics Light Fleet Administrator, so my job title was written Administrator.
As that job is over 10 years , do I still need to correct my title on the marriage certificate? I don't think you need to change it, a letter of explanation will do. You didn't write something entirely different, you were still an administrator.

2. Though I have over 10 years work experience including NYSC, I can only get reference letters for jobs done between 2007-2010 and 2013-2016. Is this sufficient for the EE? Do I need to get a former supervisor's letter with his business card to cover the other years 2000-2007?
You only need reference letter for jobs you get points for, and the maximum points is for 3 years. The other jobs can be written in your personal history.

3.My job role changed a lot over the years and I am not seeing an NOC that relates to my job description(s). I worked as a Logistics HSE complaince Officer 2007 -2010; as an HSE travel coordinator, analysing and advising staff on the associated risks and hazards on prospectove business trips as well as collating HSE performance statistics data for the company between 2013 -2016. which NOC do I select? You need to look for NOCs that have similar duties with what you did on the jobs you are getting points for. The job title do not matter, duties are the most important.

I appreciate your responses.

Thank you.
(back to reading for IELTS).

You can reply using the last email you received from them (attaching copies of everything), send a CSE and/or send copies of all the documents by courier.

So sorry to hear this...I can only imagine how you feel.

Hmmmmm......did you upload all your PCCs as a single PDF? Or did you upload one, then click on the same upload button to upload another? If perhaps you did that, the system would have deleted the 1st upload...and the cycle goes on and on. I'm suspecting this is what happened, but if you are sure it's not the case, then write to them as advise.

All the best!

Dear Family,

I just want to drop a few points to encourage someone this hour especially people with IELTS scores that didn't come out as expected.
So i started this journey since Aug 2015..i rushed to do IELTS Without much practice and i scored: LSRW: 7.5,6,8,7 and i hired David Cohen Law Firm paid 2000 USD but nowhere was i advised that my score is bad and i need to retake the IELTS. I figured that out on a thread like this that was closed. So Practically, i read the previous thread and have been reading this thread since it started from Page 0.

Dont be in a hurry, every step is a major step: Practice, pray and Plan, and Read....
I Retook the exam in April 2016, when i figured out the CRS draw kept going higher: Behold: it was the hardest test i ever came across this was after so many practice sessions on Youtube, my hubby scaled thru because he listens to rap music... the listening was terrible..so i understand if the exam is tough..the result was: LSRW: 7.5,7.5,7.5,6.5.... it was a terrible try i must say coupled with the fact that i was heavily pregnant.
I eventually lost the baby at delivery in May and i was devastated and numb for weeks...
But Guess what i bought a book in church: JOYCE Meyer: NEVER GIVE UP...That book quickened the fire within me in this terrible times and i made up my mind to re-write IELTS exam, my hubby felt it was the wrongest time to write an exam because of the situation surrounding but my spirit man was lit and on fire..I paid for another IELTS AND Practiced, rehearsed, like my life depended on it..Prayed like my life was going to end..JESUS Did it: AUG 2016 Result: LSRW: 9,7,7.5,7...My score went up to 465.. but the subsequent draws were high..
I kept faith alive...till Jan 4 when i saw dat the draw came down and i didn't get an ITA after contacting DAVID COhen law firm they said my profile expired a day before and my contract had expired that the contract was for a year, remember i contacted them in July 2015 because a family friend relocated his whole family to Canada some years back and advised me they were the best and anytime i plan to take such a step i should contact them.
I was furious sent a mail to the whole high ranking officials in the firm and how they were joking with my relocation plan.. apparently we were not on the same page .. They decided to give me a waiver to renew my profile in the POOL...
Jan 11th draw i got ITA.. They informed me..and said they will collect 1500USD to assist in compiling my documents and submit my application to avoid mis-representation. I had already had enough of the firm and their shit.. so i told them i wont be continuing my application with them.
With the help of this amazing thread i was armed with information to submit a successful application.. which i did with my spouse.. We keep reading...Never GIVE UP.. Guys..see you all in Canada..
Great read!! @Bolded cracked me up grin grin

It would appear that the visa officers are over-worked and no longer as detailed as they used to be.

Someone had this same complaint in another forum that I visited today. The application was cancelled for not submitted the marriage certificate that she had already submitted.

You may want to send them a letter of explanation with evidence that the required document as uploaded.

I feel bad but I believe this is a mistake. I uploaded all the PCCS as a single PDF file. I will send them a message and see what they say. Thanks

I would really appreciate any useful comment that i will get about the below subject matter.

I have a BSc certificate and University of cambridge advanced level certificate. I guess University of cambridge advanced level certificate is equivalent to high school diploma or college diploma in canada.

will these be regarded as two certificates for CIC?

With the separation granted in court, won't her husband still need to submit PCC and medicals?
optionese:

A separation status is also not by word of mouth. Filing for divorce does not equate separation. To file as separated, she also needs to file processes in court. That procedure is faster because you are saying we have issues that may or may not be resolved but for now I need to absolve my self of the legal liability as a spouse so court separate us. Judges are more inclined to grant such orders faster as there is still an opening for settlement.

Not when you are legally separated, you have no liability towards that person to some extent.

Lol, good question! Thought of plagiarism should be sufficient to discourage anyone from writing word for word. There might be no rule against it but it only makes your job duties appear like you outlined it to suit the requirement, not that you carried out those activities, even if you have.
