The truth is that in every mbaise family they have a priest or reverend father so it's not acceptable by them to bring a non mbaise because they have in surplus that is to say they want one of their own instead of an outsider.
And an mbaise son is the vice chancellor comfortably in the nnamdi azikiwe university... shame, big shame on them....

It is connected o. because after Biafra comes, Emeka will say an Mbaise Igbo will not rule him, or an Ebonyi
rulership is not fit for the Igbo...

If you think it wont happen, that it happened in a church (of all places) means
your people need to work on their characters of hate, resentment, self-seeking and ingratitude.
If those guys rejected a fellow Igbo on the grounds that he is Igbo, just that he is Mbaise,
it means there is a problem.

l will not tolerate it. So am not signing off Biafra unless you change your ways.
sorry to say,but ur arguement is too shallow...........does it make any sense if a man from another family is made the head of ur family?,to every given problem, there is a right way to solve it,when it comes to family head, the family members decide who will be the head,as ward chairman is to the ward members,so is the constituency to the communities that make up the coustituency, same with local government chairmanship, house members, governorship, and the presidency a national decision..........what am i trying to say?,everything has its own way of doing it,nobody should be held against his/her decision, unlike what we have in nigeria today, where prefferential treatment is the order of the day...let me stop here with a piece of advice for you and your type.....pls don't allow sentiment get the better half of your reasoning, have trailed that path before and i can assure you,it can only destroy you and you alone

Let's see how Pope Francis deal with this. I'm short of what to say! Growing up in Lagos, Rt. Rev ( now Cardinal) Olubunmi Okogie, a man from Edo state, was the Archbishop of Lagos, and we all loved him. I didn't know this was a 'thing' among some so-called catholics. What a shame.

When it comes to religious tolerance give it to the Yoruba's. It is only in Yorubaland that you will find a Church, a Mosque, and a Shrine in the same street. I stand to be corrected, but you cannot find such anywhere else in Nigeria. It is only in a Yoruba family that you will find memebers of differet faith, living peacefully together. Others should emulate the Yoruba's in the area of respect and peaceful coexistence

A friend of mine who served in Anambra State, Aguta Local Goverment presicely, told me about the sharp divison and hatred that exist between the igbo churches in igboland.

Anglican igbos versus Catholic igbos
Methodist igbos versus Baptist igbos
Lutheran igbos versus Presbyterian igbos
Reformation igbos versus Protestant igbos
Orthodox igbos versus pentecostal igbos
At least they have never exchanged ordinary blows, talk more of killing anyone.

They are my people but I'm not part of their disgusting hate DNA.

Try and know why they rejected the Bishop before you begin to disgrace your stupid generation in public. by the way all your fore fathers and ancestors including your incoming generation can never get close to people from Mbaise

Anambra against Enugu, Imo against Abia, All of them against Ebonyi. Within Abia, you have Ngwa against Abriba. In Imo, Owerri against Mbaise.
You can't live in peace with others and you're up in arms against your own brothers.

That is exactly why the Hausas have given the igbos quit notice to go back to the SE and learn home training.

The politics in churches these days is more than the politics in PDP and APC put together. The VC of Unizik in Anambra state is from Mbaise. Those Ahiara people should bury their heads in shame.Obviously, they see religion as a business rather than a path to spiritual enlightenment.

Oga dont go too philosophical, just read what an Igbo man said to another on the quote above.
My problem with you is you always dont want to admit to you tribalistic tendencies.

I wanted to shout 'it had started" but that will not be true, cos the discord amongst you runs through generations....you travelled out and carry that discord--that sentimentalism and put on all you meet across Nigeria an if you people return to Biafra, ehen, now you will continue from where you stopped.

Honestly this is very true.

I served in anambra, (enjoyed my stay , i wont lie ) "Anambarians" are quite hospitable.

So when it is time to have meetings on paying up of bills , we wer just 3 tenants, wen d anambra guy comes to call me and then i ask him about the 3rd guy.... He would say dont mind that illiterate , he doesnt know anything, u know he is from ebonyi...

I swear

That mbaise priests who took vow of obedience will connive with the laity to reject appointed bishop is what is more baffling. South easterners definitely have serious problem so tey dey carry am enter church.

I suppose you are referring to this ideology...of only wanting someone from there to head the church...

I believe that's the height of tribalism and sectarianism. Under the climes of politics (which you are rendering from) that is actually the norm. This is CHURCH for petes sake! The priest is not reading an Mbaise Bible, singing Mbaise hymns and preaching Mbaise christianity.

Actually this should 'clear your eyes' as to the level of the penetration of discord amongst your people and Nigerians generally. Also, that you brought the instance of family members being the ones to chose their leader( when it's Church we're talking about) further points how you have digressed from the original norm of Christianity.

Am an igbo but I must say I so much love your writeup. We igbo are too sentimental. Imagine rejecting a bishop appointed by the Supreme pontiff just because he has 's not from your home town. What makes it more sickening is the involvement of the clergy, can you imagine that!? What happened to the vow of perpetual poverty and complete obedience to the church. In fact bro, am speechless.
This is disgusting. It is really disgusting.

Igbos and ethnic bigotry, even among themselves they can't tolerate each other.

Is not obvious that the clamour for biafuro is a call for self annihilation of the Igbo race.
