Heyy guys!
I'm so sorry for going AWOL.
I've just been very busy. My mother-inlaw has gone and its remaining just my mum and i. And so i cant leave everything to her. I've also been shuttling between hospital and church. Ella is not feeling too well. So biko forgive me. However she's getting better.
And an update drops on Sunday. Double for that matter

Dedicated to Damsel14, the birthday girl. Sorry for the late dedication.
***
Veronica had her head rested on Diego's shoulders. He was tensed and angry and she knew it. He was still mad but she didnt care. At least he didnt remove her head from his shoulders.

They were like that for minutes. And then he lowered his eyes to look at her. She looked at him too and smiled.

He gently removed her head from his shoulders and held her face tenderly 'you know you're the only woman who matters the most to me in this world right?'

She nodded. Yeah right, and you cheated with that gold digging slut!

'i'm sorry about what happened the last time. I was mad. I just dont want those kids to suffer. They both mean so much to me and i love them equally. Both Kelly and Junior. They deserve to be loved by you, they deserve care and understanding from you as their mother and....'

'thats where you get it all wrong Diego' She cut in 'i am not their mother and i can never be their mother. Kelly's mum is somewhere around Nigeria frolicking with men as usual. And Junior's mum is around Paris fucking every available pole'

'you're using strong language' He noted 'the Veronica i know would never use such words'

She looked away guiltily.

'what did those kids ever do to you? You used to love and care for them as your own'

'thats the problem!' She sighed slapping her thighs in frustration 'i'm tired of loving and treating those kids as mine when they arent and can never be mine. For goodness sakes, am i destined to care for kids who their f'ing mothers do not give a hoot about? Is that my destiny? I cant do this anymore Diego. I want those kids returned to their mothers. Let them care for them'

He was visibly taken aback 'you said what?'

'you heard me. Freda called me few days ago. She's asking for Kelly to be returned and our money refunded. I refused at first but thinking about it now, i think its a good idea. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Now that her family decided to take responsibility for Kelly, why then do i have to stress myself? She should go back home. I already accepted the fact that i'm never going to birth a baby of my own, and there's no need pretending i birthed those kids when in reality i did not. And so i'm thinking of calling Freda. I'm sending Kelly down to Nigeria and i dont care if she returns the money or not. She can eat it for all i care. And also i already hired a private investigator to find Pella. She should come for Junior. And if you do not want to get separated from your son, then you might as well marry her. I'll gently leave this home for her'

'excuse me?' He just couldnt believe his ears. What was Veronica blabbing about? He eyed her, was this the same Veronica he married? He just wasnt sure anymore. What changed? She used to be saintly and very nice. But now there was something off about her? Was she going through difficult times? Was there something she wasnt telling him? What was going on? The Vero he knew would never ever think of giving up Kelly or Junior.

'you must be out of you mind' He said hoarsely 'if you think you can just toss Kelly and Junior out of our lives without batting a lid, then you better think twice else you need your brain operated over and over again. Now you listen, dont you ever mention this nonsense again. I'll pretend this conversation never happened, but if you repeat it again...' He snapped his fingers 'you're out of here'

She snorted 'is that a threat?'

'not really. Its just whats gonna happen to you if you dont stop this newly acquired madness of yours'

'dont insult me!'

'and what if i do?'

'i wont tolerate being insulted because of children whose misfortune drove away their families from them'

'i am Junior's father, his family and i didnt desert him!'

'oh please! What about Kelly? Are you also her biological father? Do you even know where her cursed father is right now?'

'why are we having this conversation?'

'because you asked for it!' She snapped 'just dont mention those kids anywhere around me again. And whether you like it or not they are leaving this house. As far as i am still alive, those kids aint staying here, okay?'

'still alive? Do you plan on dying soon?'

She bit her lip nervously 'just get what i said into your dirty thick skull' She hissed and drew her fuschia pink robe together and left the sitting room.

Just then the doorbell rang and Diego turned towards the direction of the bell. Sene, the house maid was already rushing to the door, a napkin in hand.

Now, who do you think is at the door?
Mia or Freda?
Keep your fingers crossed and vote who you want getting to Kelly first.
Remember, majority carries the vote.
Thanks.
