Mine wasn't a sack letter, but forced resignation...right inside the bus as I journeyed home after being forced to resign from my current work place, I took a deep breath and made these notes quickly with my phone as the thoughts flashes through my mind.

I wasn’t perfect, but a growing and learning organization, normally has in it, inbuilt mechanism that ensures that employees have all the needed tools to deliver on their assigned tasks and also the ability to highlights their staffs strengths and weakness and help them improve were necessary.

Mine was one with a divine pleasure of firing and hiring new staff members every other week as if the business lifeline depends on it. As soon a new staff member comes in, he or she will almost certainly receive warning/threat of suspension etc at every slightest mistake.
Needless to say everyone I meet at my resumption except two have either resigned or were suspended/sacked afterwards. I have no interest of mentioning the organization name, but one sign of finding such is that, they are always advertising new openings every other week through online or print media medium.

1} Take a deep breath and reflect: Being sacked is not the end of the world, you’re not the first neither will you be the last to be dismissed in this hard economy of ours especially if you find yourself in one man’s business where the slightest of offence and mistake can either lead to suspension or dismissal most times without warning, but in all things we must learn to ask ourselves questions.

Be honest to yourself and ask yourself questions. Where did it go wrong? What did you do right and what were the possible wrongs? What can you improve on to be better? And what do you need to improve on your weak areas?. Enroll for a new program, read a book? Attend a workshop/training? Or consult a mentor.

At the end of the day you must identify areas of improvement and improve on them by doing the needful

(2) Take stock again + action: Yes you have taken the first stock, but now sit down again and take another stock. And take note of the following
Your strengths, pronounced skill sets, what can you offer to the world? What have you been paid money for before?

Who and who can afford these things?

How can you reach them? And in what way/format

Is it through blogging?

Seminar/workshop

One on One/group training?

EBooks etc

What and what do you need to package any of these to reach them? Make a list of them and take action

(3) Repeat what works – review what doesn’t and repeat: You’re expected to take action from (2) above and one of the things you need to do is to review what works, save the template and repeat.

The above are what i think one should do once you're out of a normal 9-5 work .....Please house add yours

shocked

After receiving sack letter,

Auction your belongings and get someone to pay you for your remaining rent.

-get an international passport
-go to Ghana and ask of that woman that makes people rich.
-make some money, then go and develop in Thailand.

simply go and start what has been on your head..... sometimes sack is simply trying to direct you to do your own business....but I guess we are either too fearful or lazy to take a bold step aside job hunting

When i open your wrteup i felt maybe somebody told you i was sack 11/06/2017. The sack was a shock because the reason wasn't related to my job task.....it was exclusively outside the job issue and i got sacked.

To me i was shocked but guess what? I was happy at later part of the day my experience, attitude towards the sack and my personal contact while on the job with people is paying off....i haven't secure any yet but am just confidence that in no time i ll get another one given the country I'm now i ll surely get something better.

To anyone in my shoe please been down will not bring you food....people around you will pity you but they ll not pay you put things together think fast on the way forward and act right above all pray for direction u ll be surprised and thank God u got sacked

I don't mean to be tribalistic but my bet is your former workplace is a one-man business and owned by an igbo person.

That said, always have a side business.
