Re: Travelling To Luxembourg For Msc by Creamberry: 8:04am On Mar 11, 2010
Ok,thanks but i was hoping someone who has done the Luxembourg application will be able to give me first hand info on how to go about it because i think visa process in different countries varies and the biggest challenge now is the absence of EMBASSY OF LUXEMBOURG here in Nigeria.

Does anyone here know someone studying in Luxembourg?

To the best of knowledge, there is no diplomatic representation of Luxembourg in Nigeria.

For visa purposes however, you can apply for a Luxembourg entry visas from any Belgian or Dutch embassies in Nigeria.

Should there be no Belgian or Dutch embassies still in Nigeria, then you are entitled to apply for visas at any Schengen embassy. So act fast and get more information from these embassies that i have mentioned.

Goodluck.

What other information do you require? What else don't you understand? There is no Luxembourg embassy or representation in Nigeria and the only way is to apply at any Belgian Embassy in Nigeria , and for that Student visa requirements applies. You were advised to contact Belgian embassy for student visa requirements and application process.

A student should be proactive in gathering information about his proposed studies in Luxembourg, even more so, for someone proposing to study M.Sc.

why Luxemborg?they have very few schools if not less than few,and most of their citizens have to come to Belgium to study,so i advice u to apply to the belgian universities if u really want it dutch.
Re: Travelling To Luxembourg For Msc by nedostic: 7:51pm On Mar 18, 2010
@ creamberry, i have made my own msc application to the university of luxembourg, the programme starts by sept.,2010hings are .its an english taught based professional masters programme that spans for a year.which school and programme have u applied for?i have consulted belgian embassy via email and got a positive feedback from the embassy.let me have ur email address so that we can keep in touch better.luxembourgh economy is vibrant from my studies so far about the small country though things are quite on the high side as well.
Re: Travelling To Luxembourg For Msc by sandas: 4:20pm On Mar 19, 2010
you should findout a lot of things about luxembourg before you make your decision cost of living there is very high a studio there cost about 700 to 1000 euros par month excluding bills, and international students are not allowed to work, and there are no black jobs so how can you cope up,they have only 1 university in luxembourg with limited courses, it will be very difficult for them to accept your application even a lot of luxembourg citizens attend university outside luxembourg due to limited space, you must be heavily loaded before they can accept your application and note there are no university hostel so you have to rent an appartment outside, which cost a lot of money! luxembourg is very expensive to live in.

@ Poster, you need to do carry out a proper research before you make up your mind. Luxembourg is one of if not the most expensive pcountry to live in, in Europe. Also it being a city state, it does not offer much options.
Re: Travelling To Luxembourg For Msc by Creamberry: 7:40pm On Mar 22, 2010
Thanks a lot guys,i have been in contact with someone in the school and i was told that they allow students to work and more so they will give 2years residence/work permit after my studies if i want, besides Luxembourg is the hub of FINANCE and am sure to get best training as regards to finance, Am writing ACCA but i want to also get CFA and gain practical experience where finance is concerned, Thats why i decided to choose Luxembourg as my 2nd choice but my first choice is France, well so pls which do you think provides the best opportunity.

students are not allowed to work, it is a big lie, because if you get admitted into the school all you get is a student card for 1 year then after renewal, which depends on the course you are studying they give 1 year card without working permit, and another thing you must be heavily loaded housing there is very expensive! even life generally is very expensive transportation ect, like i said earlier luxembourg citizen goes to school outside luxembourg because they have just 1 university in the whole luxembourg so they have just limited space for students it will not be easy to approve international student's application, you can calculate to spend 2000 euro a month apart from school fees. you should take your time and make more findings and france can you speak and write excellently in french ? if you can't it will be very hard to gain admission you can go to uk instead if you have money.
Re: Travelling To Luxembourg For Msc by nedostic: 10:29pm On Mar 22, 2010

Re: Travelling To Luxembourg For Msc by nedostic: 10:03pm On Mar 31, 2010
@ creamberry, how far have you gone with your application process?Do me a mail.

@lordbanky, which of the programmes are you applying fo? get in touch as well.

Luxembourgh has a lot to offer being one of the financial hubs in europe. It is definitely not an eldorado but would be a good place to start off even though the language could be a barrier but I believe barriers are meant to overcome,it all depends on wwhat one really wants.

Let us keep in touch.
