Bro their fight for freedom is not consistent. Where was their voice during GEJ's time?
Brother in Jonathan's time they were placated, their business was steady, they were importing and selling at a friendly price. Then comes buhari. His policies raised the price of dollars to never seen heights, which affected the IBO's as they are the largest importers in the country.
He then went further to ban many goods needed for manufacturing companies (still mostly owned by IBOs) from importation list. Now he started subsidizing farming (mostly done by the north) but never for once has he tought of supporting the industrial cities of the IBOs.
Have you tried going to Aba (the most indeginous industrial city in Nigeria), the road is hell. Yet, after frustrating their business, he could not offer them respite by doing the road. With the importance of Aba, any road leading to it aught to be at the top of the federal government priorities. But no it is not, they have not received any federal government funding too, so why should they want to stay?

GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA SPEAKS ON IPOB, MASSOB ACTIVITIES, & THE REACTION OF THE NORTHERN YOUTHS.
- SAYS THOSE SUPPORTING IPOB ON ITS QUEST FOR SECESSION ARE
ENEMIES OF IGBOS
- CALLS FOR THE REVIVAL OF THE POLITICAL RELATIONSHIP
BETWEEN THE IGBOS AND THE NORTH
- THAT WHAT THE IGBOS NEED NOW IS THE “MOVEMENT FOR THE
ECONOMIC SURVIVAL OF IGBO PEOPLE (MOESIP).

The governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha has said that what the Igbos need now is the Movement for the Economic Survival of Igbo People (MOESIP) and not any movement for the sovereign State of Biafra stating that leaders from other geo-Political Zones supporting the secession movement do not love the Igbos.

He also called for the revival of the Political relationship of the North with the Igbos. Read the full text of Governor Okorocha’s speech;

“I have watched and read with keen interest the developments happening in our Country with respect to the comments by IPOB and subsequent reaction by the AREWA YOUTH GROUPS”.

“I wish I do not speak on these matters or make any categorical comment as not to be misconstrued, misrepresented or misinterpreted. But despite the political implications, I make bold to speak to my Igbo brothers and Sisters and to our friends the Arewa and their leaders on these critical matters if only to save the lives of our generation yet unborn”.

“You may recall that the issue of IPOB and MASSOB in the recent times has been making headlines in various media houses and the social media especially with many people giving different interpretations to the groups. Some see them as some uninformed youths calling for the sovereignty of the Biafra nation. Some see them as some groups seeking for personal recognition and aggrandizement for the purpose of political patronage. And for some other people, it is an invitation of what has happened in other geo-political zones in agitation just to get power and form the government at the centre as assumed to be the practice in the past”.

“You may also recall that some people believe that the South-West became President of Nigeria because of the agitation by the Oduduwa group with respect to June 12 and that brought General Obasanjo as the President. Some argued that President Goodluck Jonathan came because of the agitation of the Niger Delta region for resource control and marginalization. Of recent it was also believed that President Buhari came in as President because of the agitation from Boko Haram in the recent past”.

“Let me also mention that whatever is the reason for the agitation from different groups whether right or wrong, I feel it is an ill wind that has done this nation no good”.

“If you may recall, only few months ago I have pleaded and made request for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, making excuses for him and his group as youthful exuberance and I stated that keeping him in prison would command for him unwarranted popularity and fellowership. Shortly after that and followed by the comments from the South-East Governors, Nnamdi Kanu was released, and only again to hear about the sit at home order by IPOB”.

“Let me correct the impression that the South-East people and leaders supported the sit at home order. It is not true, two factors contributed. The sit at home order came shortly after the democracy day holiday and our people in their natural character would want to enjoy the holiday to the fullest, hence, considering that the day was 30th, so many people continued the holiday. And the second and most important reason was that most traders had the fear of hoodlums taking advantage of the situation to disturb them and so stayed at home. It is not true that the sit at home order was purposely obeyed as support for IPOB”.

“Let me present an Igbo man in a practical manner. An Igbo man is a peace loving man found at all nooks and crannies of the world. There is no place you go without finding an Igbo man either building the bridge of friendship or creating brotherhood, a

Well, dont be too hard on yourself. The reason no one can call for Referendum on secession is because our present constitution does not provide for such. We are in "... One Nation Under God, indivisible..." So before we can be talking on how to conduct a Referendum we have to first of all, talk of how to achieve CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT withing the present composition of the 36 State House of Assemblies as well the NASS and finally the assent of the Executive President TO INSERT THE PROVISION FOR SECESSION IN OUR CONSTITUTION.

So before you all keep churning out misinformation and constant display of inadequate knowledge of prevalent circumstances, LEARN, SEEK KNOWLEDGE and INFORMATION in order to make inform contribution on issues you have no knowledge about.

Peace!
If there is no referendum in our constitution does it make it right threatening people with war, death and attacks? Isn't it people that make a country? . Your the one who needs to go learn, seek knowledge and information for thinking a constitution should be put first before the feelings of people who make up that country. How have our leaders been able to use the constitution to better the life of the common Nigerian.

The unwise just sees this as just a Biafran struggle not knowing that this may bring up other agitating bodies and likely spur a revolution like no other.

Why mention war? It's let the south east vote to determine if the stay in Nigeria. If majority vote to stay this agitation ends forever. Why is Nigeria scared? Majority of Igbo might vote to stay. Self determination is a right and not civil war.

Igbos are not ready. Nigeria has a standing army. One of the best in the world. How many Igbos are in the ranks and files of the Nigerian Army? Let not start what we can not finish.

We make ourselves foreigners in our own land (Nigeria) by our dispositions and actions, hence our deprivation and marginalisation.
I know, we can all work together to change this mindset my friend.

We can all become better and change the status quo. Loyalty begets loyalty. We are grossly deficient in this aspect towards Nigeria. You don't openly declare disloyalty to your father's land and still expect to be given a pat on your shoulder for your open betrayal or pampered for your lack of allegiance. Who does that?

I would rather agitate for true federalism than agitate for Biafra that is a mirage.

Long live Nigeria

Peace
did I just hear you say 'Nigeria army is the best in the world' don't even try to say that again. Nigeria army doesn't make top 50 in the world. Google it

Igbos are ready for anything?. Chai you think say war na beans. Pls pray you dont experience war in your life.
The atrocities, fear, hunger and other barbaric acts of human beings are commited during war. Mothers and daughters are raped, parents are killed before their children. You just dey here dey run ur mouth ontop wetin. Your leaders agitating for biafra have their kids in foreign countries plus the ones looting your funds while the innocent ones will pay with their blood.
I dont wish for a single blood to be spilled on this issue. We are one Nigeria and we should find a way to make it better instead of tearing it apart for selfish reasons.

I really dont know why you are unhappy my friend for you to think if someone dies today he/she is better off. Our corrupt leaders are the one you should place your anger on. Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo should come together and fight our corrupt leaders.

Who is calling for war for crying out loud ?.
They said they don't want to be part of this failed entity any longer... is that too much to ask ?. The world is getting advanced for you to force some group of people who refused to be part of you to identify with you.

On the other hand, if you say that referendum should be conducted for people to determine their future, some people will start telling you that you cannot have your country without war that we should tell our law makers to do that. The other day SE lawmakers commented on that, unity beggars said igbos are going no where that they cannot manage their own country

Now tell me ,....what can igbos do to satisfy unity beggars ?

Mind you, no country on earth has survived second civil war to be united. Anything war again is immediate disintegration whether the war is won by Biafrans or Nigeria. War will even fast rack disintegration.

As for okorocha , his opinion is worthless about igbos. He should continue building schools and hospitals for his brothers up north while IMO pensioners are languishing.

Easier said than done. Go to war and endanger the innocent Women and Children, plus starvation.

I have said it and will keep saying it, IPOB should have started on the path of dialogue and not hate speech like kanu broadcasted via Radio Biafra.

He started with too much hate speech and now want a peaceful referendum? If I hear!

Statements like the Zoo will fall, are you kidding me? Even external nations as aggressors don't use such speech talkless of groups within a sovereign nation.

Another group on the path of dialogue might achieve their cause, but i doubt if this set of IPOB might achieve it.

Kanu can just reap the fruit of his labour with maybe a Governorship post for he can easily get that now and then remain a South East power broker.

Do you think the Benue-Plateau-Kogi-Taraba who formed the bulk of foot soldiers that fought against the Igbos will repeat same in 2017 when Fulani herdsmen are decimating their population and taking over their lands? lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Nigeria is a useless country that can NEVER amount to ANYTHING even if you give it one million more years.

BIAFRA is the revolution of the children of God. As a Yoruba, you are very much welcome to the land of the rising sun.
