I am very interested in foreign turkey breeding.I bought 50 DOC Fidan broilers and 5 Turkey pouts from poultry plaza,they are 10 days old today.
Pls i need the profesionals in the house to guide me on how to breed the Turkey.I hope to go commercial in Turkey farming if i succeed with this 5.Thanks

i have zero knowledge about d biz,bt i av always fancied d idea of poultry biz,wen i was younga i had a poultry,bt ma chicks were stolen,i'd like to knw,wich turkey,ie local or foreign is best to train,ie cost wise,health wise n energy wise

it is advisable for you to start small for now.local and foreign turkeys is just like talking of cockerel and broilers.local turkeys have higher resistance to disease,rugged and easier to rear.However foreign grows bigger than local and more expensive cos of the size.

I moved my 18 days old boilers out of brooding house yesterday.i left 4 foreign turkey in the brooding house to keep them warm.pls how long do they need to be in brooding for?

kudos for starting. Also nice of you for separating them because of blackhead diseases that affects turk, whereas broilers are reservoir.
Turkey feeds are different from broilers feed so that the turkey might grow efficiently.

They require higher protein than broilers.. So buy top super starter as I was told, am using vital starter mine are four, they are 6w2d..

No but I was surprised to discover that cp % of animal care finisher is greater than that of vital feed..

Rico gado is higher than vital too.if your birds require higher cp better don't go for vital.

Lost 3 out of 4 foreign turkeys to blackhead disease.Lessons learnt in a hard way but now I know the remedy.
Learnt it is cayenne pepper or fulfil.
