Is speaking in tongues the only gift of the Holy Spirit
No wonder some churches learn it like a language.
Speaking in tongues is not salvation and has nothing to do with christ being in you.
You can speak in tongues every second like pidgin English and still go to hell fire.
Some hypocrites speak in tongues even along the road,but they still fornicate,keep malice,show wickedness... etc.
Most of you mushroom Christians,who don't have any understanding of the Bible are always the first to start preaching your sentiments and opinions,trying to impose it on unguided people.
Thank God that judgement will start from the so called churches and the so called Christians.

Oga stop misleading ppl... Here's what 1Corinthians 12 says

『 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. 1st Corinthians 12:3 ~ 12:11』

Go and read d whole of 1corinthians 12 and 1corithians 14... All d answers u seek are there. Speaking in tongues was a manifestation of d spirit in d apostles fulfilling their mandate of spreading d gospel.. U do realise ppl "HEARD" and understood d VARIOUS tongues spoken while d apostles were filled with d spirit.. Uttering gibberish no one understands or interprets isn't a gift of d spirit..

I think there's a confusion about speaking in tongues. Tongue as used in biblical context refers to language. It irritates me when I hear people talking obvious gibberish in the name speaking in tongues. If you don't speak a language anyone understands then you're not speaking in tongues, you're just acting.
On the day of Pentecost when the disciples spoke in tongues, foreigners were able to identify their languages.

Stop misinterpreting the Bible because it has its own consequences.
The energy you used in creating this thread to expose your ignorance,should have been used in spending more time in Sunday school.
