Well we have always told Igbos that Lagos is not a No man's land and that it belongs to Yorubas. Just like the great Benin Empire once ruled Aworis(a Yoruba sub group) is the same way the Benin Empire ruled Igbos in Onitsha. Point of correction Onitsha was never a tributary to Benin, What ever relationship that existed between ndigbo and Benin happened in Benin Kingdom, Benin never lorded onitsha.

The only relationship was that Eze chima an Igbo prince moved east, so Ndi Ado acknowledged that movement and the fact that the were cultural exchanges at the time on both ends.
