There's something called diplomatic immunity.. We need to understand that he can't be searched or arrested. That's the law.. No matter what is going on!

Diplomatic immunity u say, tell that to the UK, after their recent series of bombing. I get ur drift ma'am, but still, one can't be too careful.

U think if he was passing a "military zone" with his car, and he denies a routine checkup cuz of his so-called immunity, u think the military dudes will allow him pass??
I bet they'll tell him to "shove it" or "sod off"

Nigerians and the "Oyinbo man" mentality. If that Chinese was a fellow Nigerian I bet my last kobo he will not only be embarrassed but arrested.

But in this case , the Chinese man got a new shirt and free 100,000 naira. grin

Nigeria can never move forward with this kind of mentality. smiley

By right, his diplomatic passports and plate number absolves him from security checks even at airports.

But he does not know that Nigerians can lynch anything, even chicken. He for just make his calls without boasting first..

For once I am proud of our police...

Nigerians need to accept the fact that the white man is greater than them and their useless laws.

Why should they search his boot? Does he look like a Boko Haram Recruiter..

Didn't they see diplomatic plate number...
The Chinese man is even kind, if it were me, I'd claim they stole my $300,000 and that my manhood is also lost.

They'd pay through their nose and forever learn the lesson..that the Chinese is a superior citizen of this country.[/quote]

They should have advised him to park outside the market since he refused to be searched instead of all this display of razzness.

Try and educate yourself! How will you ask a vehicle carrying diplomatic plate number to stop for searching? its not done. Any property carrying that diplomatic seal is suppose to be given unfettered access
Re: Chinese Man Refuses To Be Checked In A Market In Abuja, Attacked By Mob by andyanders: 10:11pm On Jun 19, 2017
They are under immunity and should not be harassed or intimidated. Since he is a diplomat, they can't be searched.

Cannot understand this country at all. Since it the Federal Capital city they supposed to be educated on how to treat the diplomats.

A car with a diplomatic plate number can't be searched anywhere. A diplomatic bag can't be opened at the airport for any reason. He actually has every right to insist that his car can't be searched.
It's just that lots of Nigerians suffer from inferiority complex. This is what the average Nigerian warlord does everyday. I'm sure a Local government chairman with his retinue of security will enter that complex free without a single search and would harass all but turn it around and it's the white harassing us forgetting that these same peeps are also looked down on like blacks in the developed white mans world.
The Chinese man was actually right in this instant. Being proud or boastful isn't an excuse not to follow the law. The law is the law. That's why the police keep slapping people daily telling you that they were rude....when did being rude become an offence

Go update yourself! how did Nigeria almost succeed in kidnapping Dikko years back? Diplomatic vehicles are NEVER subjected to search.
Re: Chinese Man Refuses To Be Checked In A Market In Abuja, Attacked By Mob by soloyes(m): 7:20am On Jun 20, 2017
We must draw lessons from every incidents and here is what I have learnt:
Most Nigerian graduates don't even know simple things happening on the international scene yet we are busy applying for UN and embassy jobs. Please go and educate yourself and stop embarrassing Nigeria. How can a graduate support the actions of market people who insist on searching a diplomatic vehicle? Not even a Benin republic diplomatic vehicle is suppose to be searched since they enjoy diplomatic immunity. These are basic issues we should understand instead of some people coming here to display so high levels of ignorance.
What to do!
For those affected by such low levels of ignorance please endeavour to use your data in learning basic issues online instead of doing whatsapp and making silly comments on posts. A word is enough for the wise!

For crying out loud that Chinese is a diplomat and the car having a diplomatic license plate
He is not wrong if he refuse to subject himself to check
