You should live your life the best way you can whilst seeking to elevate your soul. We each have the baggage of Karma from the wanderings of Samsara, the idea is to break free of the wanderings. Learning to meditate is the first step on a very long and arduous path and it takes a long time to perfect the art of meditation, there is no "one-size fits all" in learning the practice but you can start by setting aside thirty minutes each day at the same time in a quiet area of your abode visualizing Divine light flooding your mind. Your objective is to be still and contemplative and to stop your mind from wandering.

I will be writing a series on meditative practice in a day or two on the forum, you might find it to be of interest.

Then hang out with older people who you feel comfortable with. No one says you MUST hang out with your peers.

You will get answers faster this way.

A religious grounding is good however you will find that the Christian paradigm is mainly redemptive in nature, although that it not what it set out to be. You will not find contained in their scriptures the tenets of self-realisation, attainment of gnosis or enlightenment. In order to begin to learn about spirituality you have to learn about the universal Divine nature of things, you have to shift your gaze from a "global God" as it were, to a universal Divinity. I always tell anyone starting out on the quest of self-discovery to begin by learning how to meditate first. It is the gateway.

It is better not to know because incorruptible Divine impeccability is paramount. If you become cognizant of your destiny then it is inevitable you begin to make conscious decisions in a bid to fulfill that destiny and in doing so, valuable life-lessons you are meant to experience may become circumvented.

Our true destiny is our transformation from matter to spirit form, we wander the physical realms until we break loose of our shackles. Knowledge truly is power.

Not everyone has access to the bible and/or not all will ever come across the bible
so ignore the bible verse and any other bible reference then
because doing so will not damage, diminish or subtract the real points in the post
about watching your words, actions, thoughts, character and habits as each leads to becoming your destiny

You're welcome. You should not confuse worldly aims, goals and achievements with destiny. These are merely tools which enable you to live, in a physical world, they are a means to an end, but never the end in itself. There are those who's destiny it is to impact the world, but they are few and far between, mainly we impact each other's lives in different ways according to the divine plan. One’s entire destiny could be geared towards the one act that will be performed at the appropriate juncture that could conceivably save another soul from the depths of despair.

Our destinies are always for the greater good or as our Christian friends would put it....for the greater glory.

We are all present at the musical concert of life, we dance to the same tunes and no man is an island. You have illustrated the point I made earlier that our destinies are broadly mapped out, but we do possess freewill, Imagine you exist in a giant bubble rolling downhill, you can steer yourself through, over or under obstacles you may even stop but you are uni-directional, you may take the path of least resistance, you may take a bumpier route but inexorably the vector sum of all your possible directions is illustratively downwards.

If you really want to know what is mapped out for you, seek guidance from your higher self, your Atman the answers are always within you.
