connectpoint:Well for me 2k per day is too small.. the barber will be getting 2k×30 = 60k every month as Revenue. He will incur overheads, e.g rents, electricity, fuel, maintenance expense... etc, which when amortised monthly may amount to at least 30k.. Therefore he has a Net Income of at most 30k monthly... This is too small bro. Not to mention the volatility of his earnings, since customers may not necessarily visit his shop whenever they need to cut their hair. |

With 200-300k per annum and you want a serene environment with light, water etc, guy are you a JJC?, that amount can not get you a decent place at the centre of Lagos. |

OP said he needs a serene service-based apartment/environment with intelligent folks and all he has is N200k for mini flat and some folks are mentioning Ikeja, Surulere, etc. @OP, I have minimal idea on how tenancy fees work in many part of Lag, but I don't think you can get a good place with your budget. Truth is N200,000 doesn't sound like a budget that will meet many of the suggested areas on this thread. I don't know the nature of your work-at-home job, but if it has anything to do with writing, then you shouldn't be bothered about your neighbour's IQ. Writers don't have time for those neighbourhood gossip and eavesdropping. It is best to keep your job discreet and avoid any form of distraction as much as possible. I've been working at home for 4+ years, and my biggest challenge is Electricity, not my neighbor's IQ. |

connectpoint:God bless you bro, Ajah is surely the best, the light is something else, you will doubt if you are in Nigeria, tho we never see light today sha, but sometimes we can stay 2 days without the light going off for 1 hour. |

connectpoint:How did i quote u wrongly? Was just analysing the situation. My point in that post was simply that you dont appraise a business by its revenue only but also the costs attached to it. For a keke driver, it may take him 7 to 8 months to break - even before he now starts to make profit. I really dont think being a salary earner is worse than being a keke driver, especially when the salary is attractive and u incur little or no costs. |

haibe:Lol. i love you bro. I love your variance in perspectives. However, everything is considered in my observations. I'm working so this is distracting me. but since you're asking... I get a cut on the island for 500naira...the light is 18hours... the average barber cuts ten people daily..that's 150k, feul motnhly...20k...no association or whatsover... give or take... the barbers i have around me make 150k... the average keke driver make around 150k minimum monthly whether they take break during hot weather or not.. Now the guy that works in an office in V.I. earns say 100k per month...transport consumes like 25k monthly... cost for looking good to blend in monthly...5k, rechangre card inclusive... miscelleanous 5..approximately 35k per month ends up with 65k -ish monthly.. i lie ? this isn't better than driving keke or giving hair cut or running a stylist..oh..when i managed my sister'smini mart i made 40k per day on sales in just a tiny estate.... 160k monthly... she just sat down and was getting fat... ![]() |
