sad

This is so sad. I remember when growing up that this show was a constant weekly show for us. My dad made us watch it until we fell in love with it.

I remember the first questions that they use to pick contestants where they ask them to rearrange C, D, A, B. For my mind, the Shit is easy now.grin

I remember the hot seat, how the questions to the first "safe spot" was usually easy yet some will use lifeline. Some even miss some questions and walk away with nothing. For me, them stupid o...

I remember when one professor finally won the #10 milla jackpot. Omo see celebrationgrin. Like say he came from our house.

All them usual 30 seconds callers and how sometimes all they say is "hello, I can't hear you" and how Frank will keep everyone in suspense with his commercial breaks...

That show cannot close down. Part of me and I believe many other Nigerians will go numb if it does. There are shows of the moment and shows of the lifetime.

Who wants to be a millionaire is the latter.

Edit : For those of you calling me a kid, I never claimed to be a grandfather undecided

Frank's role in Jonathan's re-election campaign using WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE against Buhari and APC may have caused MTN to pull out. Frank became political with the program. APC has hit him back. grin grin grin grin
Was a photoshop damn you!!

Hmmmm...
I was on the show too and came away with 500k.
So you're one of those people who made sitting in the audience a cottage industry ! I dey see una dat time. Awon hustling boys ! Well done !
I totally agree with you. Never underestimate ANYONE. Some Nigerians operate at a genius level.
Wow! Welldone bro! People usually tag along with me into the studio based on my winning antecedents cheesy. It got to a time that winning on the show became a second nature. Sometimes, guys around me will say I should read out the correct sequence once the question pops. The few times I tried it, some were even faster than me because I called it out before typing mine. Sometimes, some funny members of the audience will not look at the screen and will only focus on my keypads grin. Happy to put smiles on their faces as well.
........The audience has been very helpful to the contestants as well because most times, majority of the audience don't normally know the answer to the " ask the audience" question but once few people know, they will whisper to every other member and form a collective vote. It was so much fun!
I played severally for the hot seat but never made it. If I show you my jotter ehn, you go open mouth. I had all the oscar award winning movies at my fingertips, grammies, nobel prize winners, history, geography, sports etc. I doubt if I would have won less than 2 million if I made it coupled with the fact that having been part of the audience for over 20 shows, I understand Frank's body language grin cheesy grin and that would have been an added advantage.

You must really be so so young. Well, I am one person that will forever be so grateful to MTN for sponsoring the show. Although, I did not get to the hot seat, I am usually part of the audience a lot of times and I won nothing less than 260,000 naira from the fastest finger audience play and that went a long way in helping me during my school days. I remember leaving my house as early as 4:30am every 2 weeks Saturday to make the slot for the audience at the Ogba studio. I remember having multiple studio tags such that I could attend another studio session same day in case I fail to win 20,000 naira in my first show. I remember winning 20,000 naira severally and giving my keypad to complete strangers because I have won so many times and cannot win again. I remember Mr. Wale, the chief security man at the studio. I remember Anthonia, Seye and the rest of the crew. I remember travelling down from my Uni almost every weekend to make the show. I remember scripting the English alphabets on one side of my wallet so that I can get to recite it regularly. I remember introducing at least, 10 friends to the show who ended up winning on the audience play game.

Point of correction, the winner of the 10 million naira is not a Professor. His name is Aroma Ufodike. I was at the studio the day he won. I was in that particular session. In fact, before we went into the studio, I was right beside him and I remember telling him to tone down the puffs from his cigarette. He was under pressure and I guess puffing the cigar was his way of calming down. The security had to stop him before he complied. He was a business man then and he deals with irons. He studied something related to Geography.

One thing the experience with Aroma taught me is that, never underrate anyone. Imagine someone I was hitherto thinking was constituting a nuisance being filled with such repertoire of knowledge and going on to win the ultimate prize.
he is an Explorer in real life having travelled to more than 7countries (not just visited but toured)
You are correct it was business that made him travel alot

Yeah yeah. I did not have the chance to talk to him personally before the session due to his heavy puffs.

Frank Edoho..

A confirmed cheater
A renowned wife batterer.
A venereal disease reservoir
A good TV show host.

It is on record and I have it on good authority that when he came to Arochukwu to marry his second wife, he kept haggling for bride-price reduction.

If you are growing up between 2004-2010 that leaves you a teenager, by Arabian standards, you will not be allowed to use the internet without the consent of your parents, hope you know that? Now you understand why most adults are leaving nairaland because they feel the space is infected with childish tantrums!! do you blame them??

Yes, there are too many kids masquerading as adults these days on Nairaland. sadIf their contribution were filled with sense, it would have been great, but then too many of them just recycle crap. But SirWere is not like them, though. wink
