pauljumbo:Owning properties in Nigeria does not automatically give you the right to resident in Nigeria, only a residence Visa will. Even though the Chagoury brothers owned hundreds of properties in Nigeria, they were still deported unceremoniously by the Obasanjo administration. It was after they reconciled with the government were they allowed back. How will you live or manage a property in a foreign country if you are denied access to the country. |

pauljumbo:The reason behind the agitation isnt the point, the message I tried to pass isnt also about how Nigeria would be better off or not, that is absolutely not what I'm talking about or even want to talk about. My point was simple, if there was to be a separation, with the vast amount of investments and interests Igbos have all over Nigeria, it is definitely a silly thing to engage in any acts which can make the separation incordial because such acts will put the investments of Igbos all over Nigeria at risk. Unfortunately, this is where ipob organisation has completely rubbished everything; the foundation of the ipob approach was to preach hate, spew unprintable insults at everybody and even leave threats on a daily basis. Such an approach has not only ridiculed sensible Igbos all over Nigeria, it has also put the security of lives and investments of Igbos all over Nigeria at risk. If anyone cannot see that, then it's a pity. pauljumbo:Nowhere did I insinuate that it is good to seize anyone's property. I only called for common sense to be applied to the issue; as a smart adult, if I have a valuable property planted within my neighbours compound, I would have to apply some wisdom when thrashing out issues with him. I will do all I can to ensure I dont infuriate him, and this will remain the wise thing to keep doing until I successfully retrieve all my valuable belongings from his compound. This is common sense I would suppose. But obviously, ipob organisation didnt think this wisdom was necessary; it probably doesnt even care about the vast number of Igbos who have mega investments outside Igboland, after all, "Why didnt they bring their investments home even when we warned them to do so?" Applying common sense to the matter, I wonder why you should be surprised that following the threats of destroying the zoo, there are now counter threats of property seizures. What exactly were you expecting to be the natural reaction of the insulted people of the zoo? |

obailala:Wow! I'm really glad to see "thinking Nigerians". Nnamdi Kanu is just going to end up causing more problems for the average Igbo. |

obailala:Nigeria and Biafra will make great neighbours especially Oduduwa, if they choose to part ways, that is. Forget about the so-called hate speeches. It's dumb founding when people complain of hate speeches without trying to investigate the cause. Majority of the youths of this country are frustrated already. They have been to school and they now know that the system is not developed to succeed. Nigeria keeps retrogressing with every passing day. Just a few days ago, a young Hausa man was honoured in UK by the Queen for his technological ingenuity. Would that have happened if he was in Nigeria? Nigeria is designed to hamper the potentials of the youths and those who understand are deeply angry |

inkon:Nigeria and Biafra will make good neighbours only if the separation is achieved in a cordial manner. But even at that, I don't trust the north being accommodating to an Igbo man should there be a secrssion. By default, majority of Hausas up north hate Igbos and ironically, the same Hausas are the biggest opponents to Igbo secession. Let's be honest with ourselves, do you honestly think the Hausa man on the streets of Kano for instance will be more courteous to an Igbo living in Kano if the SE should secede? |
