shumuel: U r right but that's another wahala for another day. Most of the men of God themselves focus too much on money rather they should help the less privileged members. U have a point, but the issue at hand needs to be addressed |

This is why Arabian kings suddenly started visiting Nigeria and donating gates to buy off Nigerian muslims. It is sad if to islamise Nigeria is only the reasons pa buhari fought to rule Nigeria. The igbos says they wont be amongst those to learn arabic so let them go so that those of our leaders who are only corncerned about stealing will donate their children to learn arabic. . |

9japride:Yes, of course i know, i guess the only solution is to crap all religion studies in schools and leave it to the churches and mosque to do the teachings. |

factwriter:Firstly, Swahili is the most widely spoken language in Africa. Secondly, Hausa has never been DEVELOPED to a point of being accepted as second official language in Nigeria. Though anybody can post anything online, the intellectual capacity & level of exposure of the writer will always show, that also depends on the quality of & intellect of the reader. Pidgin English is widely spoken in Niger delta area of Nigeria & widely known in most developed English Speaking countries as a native English in part of Nigeria. You cannot tell a Yoruba man in South West or an Urhobo or Ijaw man in Warri that you are developing hausa as a second official language. Development of a language has processes. South Africa is an example of where a language is developed aside English. Those in Abuja & other part of North may take it as a second language because it is the native language there. That is not possible in Lagos or Warri or Yenagoa. The only difference is that you may be forced to learn hausa in the north for ease of communication especially with non educated people (ba turechi). International media may choose literacy & population to air programs in particular language. In regions where you have Arabic scholars & nomadic population who are not educated across many countries, local language may be used. This does not attach any importance to the language. I remember some years ago, French PM walked out of an EU meeting because the protest letter written in French by a Frenchman was read in English. The EU commission had taken the population of members that understand English into consideration by reading the letter in English. I think this is where the problem lies in the north. they should not impose IRS or Arabic on Christians. CRK , IRS or Arabic should be by choice & not by force. |

babaolofin:If you can read something scribbled in HAUSA language (or Arabic or French or well, English language too - of course), it simply means you are educated. that is, you have formal educational learning. So the issue of "ba turenchi" has nothing to do with illiteracy. It simply means "I don't speak English"... ...a phrase i have heard repeatedly during my Peregrine days (as a teenager wanting to see the world) in Spain, Cairo, Cotouno and some other parts of the globe where the only additional response I get when I utter a statement in English language is an ear-to-ear grin. Those reputable international radio stations I listed were broadcasting to a legible listeners. Not understanding the ENGLISH LANGUAGE does not make you an illiterate. please I know you know that. Please let's not be bias in our agitations. Don't back a legitimate claim with false evidence. |

These pastors use the media ro ggain sympathy all the time while they dont practice what they preach. I think they should come down to Kaduna where the parents of Muslim pupils at Baptist Primary School Kaduna were made to sign undertakings for their wards to compulsorily take CRS as a course on admission to the school. why should this create a fuse? most persons that study religious studies here in the south studied both the Christian religion and Islamic religion as well as African traditional religion. Both ethnic and religious sentiment has so much blinded our reasoning. These so called men of God takes advantage of our shallow understanding. The reason Africa can't move forward is because we are always subjective in our reasoning and argument |

shumuel: That's a very good idea. We claim to be religious but our attitude is messed up, I believe the religious centres can handle the teaching. But I doubt if such good plan will be implemented soonest |

Islamki is satanic for Nigeria peace it only contribution is killing and killing innocent people. Islamik remain useless in Nigeria. They eat and drink hate because they of no use to human existence. Removing CRK and bringing in IRK did I tell them I want to go for bombing mission? Rather than moving their people above poverty line they wouldn't do that but instead choose to remain useless for life with Islamik bullshit. Wow unto them all. Curse be with them. |

9japride:It's the easiest solution bro, we all attend Sunday schools, move from a class to another as we grew, even further to higher level like that of Wofbi; the BCC, LCC and LDC are even equivalent to SSCE, Diplomas in Theology,, and the same goes for muslims too; they attend Arabic schools; Ile-kewu and graduate from it, do their Wolimo and become Alfas, we would only need to give more attention to it in the religious houses, infact make it complusory, rather than voluntary, and we are good,, before any christian child clocks 25, he or she would even have had an equivalence of Masters in theology and can always use that to search for jobs, just like the muslims do in the North, most of them don't really have any basic education but they use their religious Certificate, tender it in any organisation and they get employed, it is only our Christian leaders that is punishing us here in the south. |

MadCow1:U still didn't answer my question. Sharia law is an Islamic law .So y should if affect me, a Nigerian who isn't Muslim. There are things I can do as a Nigerian in many southern states and be free buy try it in Zandra, you are I serious trouble. Last I check, isn't Nigeria a secular country. Just look at it properly with a clearind n see my point |

Joe82834:I get your point.. But here is the beauty of life. In the United States for example, I cam smoke weed in Colorado be caught by the police with weed and not go to jail. But if I try dame in Texas, I will be in jail for possession with intent to distribute and they may even bring federal charges against me depending on the quantity. But both states are in the United States. Zamfara are well within their rights to choose their state laws. My advise is "when in Zamfara, do like the Zamfarans". If you are in Saudi or Dubai, you abide by their rules don't you? Hence my call for a general education of some of these really important aspects of our lives. |

shumuel: Your idea makes a lot of sense. That certificate stuff to b given by religious bodies it's a good one. The major issue in Nigeria is politics. Why? Because some people in position of power tend to use their influence to propagate their religion. Humans generally are a very dangerous weapon causing a lot of problems in the world today and many of them hide under religion too. It will b best if you communicate to the various agencies and organisations concerned with reglious studies for them to key into ur concept. As I said earlier it will take a very long time before majority of Nigerians will key into your concept. We still dey form infant and backwardness for our reasoning. Me I quickly get tired of addressing various ills online these days. Our youths needs mental upgrade |

ollah1:Islamik should re-brand themselves like Dubai is doing and today they are enjoying the country. If Kano develop heaven wont fall. I just think that Muslims should focus on development and stop this circle of madness over religion. All of us cannot be Muslim or killer. Religion cannot bring u food. Let them keep their religion extremist to themselves alone and stop been yearly waste in Nigeria. I will be happy for them. |
