The National Universities Commission on Monday gave a recognition letter to an Ogun State Government delegation, granting the approval for the upgrading of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, to Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology.

The NUC Executive Secretary, Prof Abubakar Rasheed, who delivered the approval letter to the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, at the NUC Headquarters, Abuja, said the MAUTECH was now the 45th state university and the 85th public university in the country.

Every sane person will know this is no good news

we keep creating junk universities while the existing ones are given little or no care

let standard universities run more than one section per year instead of giving us glorified sec schools

Why upgrade names when you can upgrade certificates.
Polytechnics already have fantastic structures & curriculum to run with, just a change of HND to Bachelor of tech will do.
