So please for those of us planning on putting in for 2018 winter or summer session for any of these computer science related courses, please feel free to hit me up let's run things.

Hello great people of this forum,

Sorry if i ask what have been discussed here before now. I want a clearification on this, I have observe that most people option for block account as soon as they receive their admission letter. Is sponsorship letter from someone who reside in Germany Have same advantage with block account in line to meet the proof of fund requirement.

Secondly, Must the person that is to send you a sponsorship letter relate to you.

Also, How much will this person earn or have in his/her bank account to be eligible to sponsor someone.

Furthermore, What will be his/her status in Germany in terms of being either a temporary resident or permanent resident to be able to sponsor someone.

Finally, what will the sponsor in Germany Need to do to send the letter across to me. He doesn't no anything about this sponsorship of thing, what ever response I get here is what I will communicate to him.
I look forward to your quick response on this concern.

Thank You in advance.

Your sponsor has to meet the immigration office (ausländerbehörde) in the city where he is living. The document is called Verpflichtungserklärung and your sponsor has to show proof of income and his housing contract. Besides he must be a German or have a German residence permit. The fee is around 25 euro. After getting the document I think he will have to send the original to you so you can show it to the embassy. Good luck

Hello,

Thank you.

If you don't mind and if I may ask you, what was the reason for your first denial? And how can one avoid it?

Cheers

1. I wasn't properly informed about the processes. I think this thread has done justice in providing more than sufficient information you need.

2. Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. I took the preparation (spiritual and mental) processes lightly. I didn't prepare well at all the first time. If I will advice you, you need to rehearse every answer well. Prepare as much as you can. Rehearse in front of a mirror like you were facing the VO, and answer the questions to yourself. It will help. But overall, try not to answer mechanically or like a programmed robot because of 'overcramming' lol. It could cost you.

Best wishes all the way!

In case you need help to convert your CGPA in nigeria to german grade read this

The decision if you will get admission will by made on the basis your specialization, your grades and your motivation letter.

We are looking for students with a good physics background (note, that the properties of functional materials are based on the laws of physics). Hence, we clearly prefer physicists, chemists and electrical engineers. Mechanical engineers and students holding an engineering degree in another field may also get admission.

Some weight is put on your grades. The grade system differs from country to country. Often grades are given as „A“, „B“, „C“ and so on. Yet, these grades are also translated in a number. On the basis of these numbers or points your grades are transferred into the German grade system. In the German grade system 1.0 is „very good“, 2.0 is „good“, 3.0 is „fair“ and so on. The worst grade which means „fail“ is 6.0.

Here is how the translation works: What you need is three numbers. i) the highest possible score (HPS); e.g. a „AA“ could correspond to 10.0 points. (note, that this is just an example, at your university an „AA“ or „A+“ could correspond to 4.0 points or any other value). ii) the lowest possible score (LPS) which you can achieve without failing. This could be „DD“ corresponding to 4.0 points. iii) your average score (AS). Let it be 8.31 in our example.

Then the German grade () is calculated using the following formula.
formula 1+3.HPS-CGPA÷HPS -LPS

In our example is 1.84. If your German grade is between 1.0 and 1.6 your chances of getting admission are good. If your grades are between 1.7 and 2.2 your chances are below 50%. With grades between 2.3 and 2.4 admission is still possible in exceptional cases but your chances are poor. If your grade is worse than 2.4 you will not get the admission.

I want to disagree with this. I don't know if this is specific to your university in Germany. Please don't generalize. All the grades you listed here are considered to be good in Germany. Even the minimum requirement for PhD in Germany is 2.5 (German scale), not to talk of master's degree.

People should check the admission requirement of programmes before applying. It is usually stated on the website of the institute or faculty.

Hi guys,

I wanna say a couple of things. I applied for M.Sc. in Germany as well to a couple of schools, Rhine-Waal, Bochum, Augsburg, and I'm awaiting admission as well.

I work in an African Embassy @Abuja as an admin staff and I understand the frustrations that these Embassies can put us through. Once one gets an admission letter, I see no reason why a foreign Embassy in my country would not go ahead and give me a suitable date to process my visa. They have no sane right to tell me they're fully booked. What does that even mean, fully booked? So why are they here? Nigerian government doesn't represent its citizens well as all. And secondly, guys, we have to get off all that mentality of studying for visa interviews like a coon. Sure, you do your research and give honest answers, and in cases you feel u can embellish without raising an eyebrow, pls do. But when you're asked what you've been doing for a span of years, don't thing these foreigners, VO and all are any better than you. Just be confident and know your details, that's all you need.

When I went for my authentication at the German Embassy here in Abuja, it was done by a German young lady, and when I was done, one dude outside waiting to do his asked if it felt like an exam. I smiled. I understood what he meant but I didn't feel flustered at all, ofcus working in an Embassy helps cus I've met many ambassadors so their VOs and staff seem like my equals to me. I don't even notice them. I'm just being myself. Plus we have to get off this thing where we accord white people as superior to us out of our system. Nothing could be further from the truth. I know its gonna take time for some, but I encourage you to be more confident in presenting yourselves.

So, when I get my admission this month, I'm most likely gonna go through similar hassles for visa date and all, although i'll get my office to write on my behalf in that helps as we're in the Diplomatic Community, but its still wrong. They dare not say that to an American or Canadian that they're fully booked. Its just some covert racism and discrimination. The admission came from their country, so they ought to honor it and process students' visa in a timely manner. That needs to change.
