Start by defining the MLS profession to him & job description, then prospects before talking about specialties maybe in details.

I appreciate your submission nextprince. It's just spot on. As a bright student, my brother believes medicine suits him, and especially because medicine is prestigious. However, he is (we all are) being forced to reconsider that, with so many doctors being unable to get job in the country. I don't know what the situation is for pharmacy... I don't know many pharmacists, except that some said pharmacy as a course is a lot tougher than medicine. That challenge is what is now making him consider pharmacy as a good, if not better option. But I'm concerned if he will be able to make a good life as a pharmacist.
MLS is medical laboratory science; i think the guys that carry faeces and urine. But if provides better living for him, why not?

No,being a pharmacist is good.....He will just spend 9 yrs.. How first going for pharmacology..then going for pharmacy.... 4yrs + 5yrs.. He could work for the federal government or state government...open his own pharmacy store..and can build his own pharmaceutical company where he can produce his own drugs...a pharmacologist can produce drugs but not licensed to sell the drugs...so they distribute it to a pharmacist to sell.. .a pharmacist just sells....drugs...they don't produce....so that is a piece of cake bro...

hmmm....medicine...stressful...read alot /all night and you fail post graduate exams...salary nothing to write home about (I am few years post Nysc).......I choose to be a general practitioner everybody look down on you,as if you are stupid or you are on a path that you will regret in future(not knowing you are tired and want to live your life....if you read all night /all night and still fail post graduate)........work as a doctor very stressful laborious.............When. I think it should be understandable that non-members of MLS like me don't know what the profession is all about. It is perhaps a pointer to the fact that some professions need to do a lot of public enlightenment and image repairing.
