Playing chess is good, but my problem is I don't have the patience for it....waiting/thinking too long before making a move.

Well I think I can beat you in chess

I prefer draught.....

It helps in descision making.
It helps the thought process, as in chess you don't make a move in isolation, you make a move in consideration of subsequent moves.

academic success is not directly related to critical thinking. Some software developers are not sound academically, but they are critical thinkers. Chess helps with critical thinking.
