Na wa o!

Even before white men came, there were blacksmiths in Yo'ba land. The fact that others dont make noise the way you do about their abilities does not mean they are unable. By the way, those are hunters' guns that are very common in all our villages. The real dealers are the politicians acquiring sophisticated fire arms for militants, boko haram and cultists. The police should go after them.

These guys need rehabilitation not imprisonment

Send them to Defense industry company of Nigeria(DICON) which was originally meant to manufacture arms but currently can only manufacture salt and furniture
What they need is reorientation

Even though these men have no licence, provided they don't sell the guns to criminals, they should be freed.
Grew up in Ile-Ife and schooled in OAU. Those are the type of guns used by the school security and local hunters within the town.

This is reason Nigeria is backward, they killed their young and raised another strangers young. Take a good look at the guns, these were guns for games and hunting, instead of licensing them and supports the arts of blacksmith and gunry and possibly create jobs and train future gunsmith with appropriate regulation and registry rule as practiced by developed country, they busy adding an imaginary charges, what a country, they have skills to produce a product, fine them for operating without license, educate and inservice them on regulating and licensing their arts, encourage them by creating sectors in charge of gunsmith for regulation, certification, training, safety rules requirement and job creation.

The police should start with the babalawo 1st.
And leave people making guns used for hunting.
Re: Police Arrest Manufacturer, Dealer Of Illegal Firearms In Osun (pic) by VajanahDischaj(f): 7:19pm On Jul 09, 2017
Na wa! Im sure the manufacturer was just an innocent man. At his age, its obvious he learnt the business decades ago when Nigeria was still backward and men were into hunting games. Police don dey form jack Bauer service, see their mumu head.

The old man is not any criminal. Robbers dont use hunters gun, and its true about the university security ish and the hunting of bats. The only problem is that the man doesnt have a license.

It is from time immemorial that blacksmith called Alagbede in Yorubaland has been making guns for hunters and community vigilantes. Hence, police need thorough investigation.
Re: Police Arrest Manufacturer, Dealer Of Illegal Firearms In Osun (pic) by matrixme(m): 11:22pm On Jul 09, 2017
like seriously, the police now goes hunting for old blacksmiths that make dane guns for museums? What a show of shame. I guess its hard to remain relevant after Evans headlines. I hope they won't target children that play with rubber band next

God bless you. I have hardly seen the police display these type of guns when they parade criminals. The other guy is a bloody blacksmith who manufactures hunters' guns, its glaring. The focus should be on where these other criminals get the sophisticated weapons they use. This looks like an attempt at Police PR to me but what do I even know.
Re: Police Arrest Manufacturer, Dealer Of Illegal Firearms In Osun (pic) by Pylony(m): 6:54am On Jul 10, 2017
They should take him to Nigerian Defence Industry (DICON), instead they'll take him to prison to go Lecture criminals like him on how to go abt the weapon trade manufacture.
Re: Police Arrest Manufacturer, Dealer Of Illegal Firearms In Osun (pic) by alaskido(m): 10:37am On Jul 10, 2017
The government support them and not jail them. What the government should do is employ them to train others on how to manufacture these guns and open up a government manufacturing center where guns and ammunitions can be manufactured so we do not have to import. This is only a suggestion o. I do not want anyone to mention or quote me.
