Temidayo9:This is not just about fair share, it's about efficiency and Management, we are not diversified and we can't manage all 36 states in this present structure by a 90 % dependence on oil. My concern is for Nigeria and the big picture not just my share which is important of course. |

Trill2b:You are more than a dreamer if you remotely think that above listed craps are the main stay of restructure. Every bit of Lagos and Abuja must be located in defunct eastern region and midwestern region including every federal government presence in defunct western and northern regions. Every military academy situated in the northern region of Nigeria must be equally situated in the southern provinces. |

Temidayo9:you have a point but don't be clannish. Awolowo was from Ikenne ogun state. the capital of old western was ibadan. and lagos was the commercial centre. it is necessary to develop the capital city and pay ayyention to your commercial city. he never took the money to his home town. that is what we call stateman |

God I love this topic, someone thinking about the positive side of restructuring, although it might seem impossible but this is the kind of country we all want to belong to. when all region can develop at their own pace. thereby reducing the rot at the center however I would like to add that our political system as to change also the manner at which we elect our officials. I mean how expensive how electioneering process is when a governor spends over 5billion naira to be in office do you expect him not to cash back from is investment. we must make public office less attractive where are school teacher could be governor so far he has the good will of the people. I feel restructuring would make each region competitive and it would enable people of each region hold their leaders accountable when they see the positive growth of another region and theirs lacking. apparently restructuring seem much ambiguous let's call it the RESET when a constitution is written based on the people's will. it we the youth that can make this happen and it starts with our immediate environment. one love |

Trill2b:Where will SP get money to run their region?Awo did what he did then bc of resource control on cocoa but today no cocoa.Ondo has less oil, lagos huge IGR will dwindle bc ppl will move back to their provinces like u said in FCT.Other SW states rely a lot on fed allocation hence they will never support it. |

Trill2b:we Biafrans don't want any useless restructuring, all we want is "BIAFRA" |

I think if this can be the solution to our problem let fight for it after all we are not benefiting anything from this current of system of Govt. Maybe if we try another one Nigeria will getting better again. |
| Re: 10 Positive Things That Would Quickly Happen If Nigeria Restructures... by Nobody: 11:40pm On Jul 09, 2017 |
reality1010:other SW states wants restructuring.......infact, most Nigerian states stylishly want restructuring. the reason why cocoa crashed is because of this useless federal government ish that wants to control everything in the country. u know; if we restructure, all regions MUST have a source of revenue, that would make the regional governments to think of alternative ways of generating revenues rather than waiting for allocation from FCT. other ways of generating revenues may include. 1. agriculture (almost all regions excluding the oil damaged places) 2. independent mining sector (almost all states has at least two natural resources). 3. manufacturing (give it to the eastern regions). 4. industries would be scattered across all regions, no monopoly on that. Lagos may not even be an economic capital again cos economy would be distributed across all regions and it will enhance better standard of living for the populace as a whole. imagine if people don't come to Lagos for job opportunities since it is in the eastern, western, middle-belt regions and so on. will Nigeria not be a better place? |

Cooly100:If all the WP Kins from the middle belt joins, WP will have 4 hydroelectric dams. They includes; Jebba Dam (540 mw), Kanji Dam (800 mw), Ikere Goerge Dam (3750 mw) and Oyan river Dam (9 mw) Apart hydroelectric dams, the WP will generate electricity through the fossil fuel power stations which includes Egbim thermal power station (1320 mw), AES Barge (IPP) 270mw, Olorunshogo power station (336 mw), Olorunshogo 2 power station (675 mw), Omotosho power station 1 (336 mw) and Omotosho 2 power station ( 450 mw). Meaning the WP can generate about 10,000 mw. Currently, it is generating about 3,000 mw. Of which 1,500 mw is without gas, 1,500 mw is from the supply of gas. Where do we get gas? WP will continue to get supply from Edo gas plant and buy from the Niger delta. But take note that the Bonga fpso is located in Ondo state and Ondo state and Ogun State has untapped natural gas. So, while WP relies on buying gas from the SP, WP will quickly develope their natural gas and oil. ![]() |
