TheKingIsHere:one of the best country in the world is Japan and they don't have natural resources... despite the huge allocation bayelsa received every month with 8Lga nothing to show for it... do you know how many natural resources in kogi state... but they are among the poorest and backward state.. even only ajaokuta potential. no region in Nigeria that will not survive... kenya largest export is just coffee and they are doing better. |

Cooly100:Whomever gets the 24/7 power first is irrelevant, provided every region gets steady power last last, about 3 out of the major power stations currently powering the country is located in the western region, plus Dangote is coming up with something very wonderful in terms of power still in that same region, even though the plants are all thermal and the gas resources in the region might not be enough to power them, but they can always buy, The westerners had their politics played out very well, even though some of their kernels were cracked by a benevolent spirit, they still played their part. |

TheKingIsHere:It's too early to argue, be jealous or speculate on who goes down, or who stays up. If we can make the restructuring thing work first, then every region puts on their work vest and move to their drawing board, every region explores what they have and compete healthily, till then, any speculations or predictions of success or doom is very premature and should I say needless! |

Trill2b:I don't support this for of restructuring. Let each state generate and maintain it resources, then pay a fraction to the fg. This form of restructuring ure envisaging will still impoverished the minorities in those regions. That's d sad fact |

The op only wishes. Here's what wll happen: The southwest will probably be the least unsuccessful since at least they don't fight much and they have lagos. Biafra will be a gangster territory where it will be "shoot me, I shoot you". Nnamdi kanu will quickly be overthrown, robbery and kidnapping will reign. The south south people haven lost the "nigerian protection" will be exploited more by international conspirators in order to loot their oil and this will lead to a "blood diamond" type of country. Oil doesn't mean they will be rich. Equitorial guinea has loads of oil and a very tiny population numbering in their thousands but yet the citizens are still poor. The north will be invaded by all those madrasas, terrorist and you will have an afghanistan type of country. Boko haram will be given hope by the restructuring idea that they too can one day have their own breakaway caliphate. Do you think the saudis will love the north just because they are muslims? Do you think they care about black africans? The middle belt will just be poor. Beware of posters like this, it was posters like this that created false write ups that encouraged people to vote for change. And now the change has come. I used to buy a kilo of chicken for 500 naira in jonathans time, now it 1000 naira, is that not change? You want to breakaway because you believe the economic situation is bad right? Don't worry, you will go from frying pan to fire, people will be buying cars with chickens instead of money after you do your so called restructuring. That's how inflated your economies will be. |

okine4real:nice opinion but I dont agree with u. u make it seem like if nigeria is restrutre lagos would be totally empty hahaha. and they would be nobody to pay tax lolz. the best thing that would ever happen to lagos is population reduction . lagos is fucking over populated . lagos state would not shrink if nigeria is restructured I totally believe it would be "the best thing to ever happeb in the history of lagos". lagos state has a population of about 20million people even if everybody leaves lagos and the population of lagos reduce ti 5million (which is IMPOSSIBLE) nothing would happen to lagos infact there would be more jobs and less crime and lagos would be more cleaner wnd safer |

to all the pessimists here. we need to understand what the op did was quite great to give this restructuring an open discussion with clear cut analysis of would be results. it should be our yearnings as youths and knowledgeable people that Nigeria is our country and we want it to work. those politicians and looters enjoys this default setting reason because they are scared of the unknown...imagine you are in Enugu and you can travel to USA from there. you can buy a Brand new made in Nigeria car from Nnewi..you can access light rail from Lagos to Kano within hours..power supply is constant and cheap... industries springing up near raw materials like beverage industries, Michelin coming to ikenne to set up tyres manufacturing plant... I'm so much elated to come across this thread and I believe we are the one who can make this work... we should demand this true federalism/restructuring to make individual regions compete at geometrical progression for its people growth and development.. case study. Kenya only export commodity is the Kenya coffee and flowers...Mexico proximity to USA made them the highest exporter of coffee to north America.. we can do it... |

PrecisionFx:The topic is about regional government. There is nothing like SS n SE; they are different regions. Always try to read up on discuss before coming up with your view. Oil in SE is less than 1% of total production in Nigeria. SS region have the biggest reserve and production. SW have more than 5% of oil production and more reserves. Enugu coal is not even upto 10% of coal reserve in Taraba/Kogi states. Coal reserves area in Nigeria do not see SE as the biggest coal reserve area. Again, SE is different from SS. Just like there are Yoruba's in Kwara, Kogi and Delta state, it does not give them the right to lump SW & MB |

bfire:So u really think in a restructure that igbos will allow demselves to be added to SS u must be a joker. The SE is inseparable with SS because the most populated tribe in SS is still the igbos. U can't dig a well or borehole in enugu without striking coal 70% of the times. Coal in enugu is pure n also proven, ur taraba story could go either way. LOL about ur oil production projections. Abia, IMO n anambara are already oil producers(though the FG intentionally avoid much mining in these states based on the usual "pull igbos down". in a confederation, the igbo states will fully go into crude oil production and massively take it to it's peak. Anambara also has the highest gas deposits in Nigeria, untapped....... by proximity with oil communities in Anambra, Enugu has oil as well......... SE oil is untouched, unlike SS whose oil have been bastardizes for over 50 years. Don't share regions with ur head, we are not going to have 6 regions, there's no discussion on that. |

sapele914:Too many children on nairaland, talking opata upandan ... ""Who has stopped enugu from mining their coal?"" The above clearly shows that u know nothing about Nigeria. And u don't even have any form of understanding of this topic. |

michaelandre:I asked a question which obviously threw u into confusion. So u think Nigeria will have one seaport wen we restructure n operate as regioan, lmfao ooo. Lagos revenue will fall massively because middle belt, SE, will have ports n Delta, Rivers, calabar, edo n akwaibom will have their own ports as well. oil companies will have no option than to take their offices n HQ to niger Delta. Lagos is only successful because of the unitary system of government, nothing more. The real cool petition will start by then. If igbos leave the SW, it will fucking fall so always remember that we are not afraid of being chased out of SW(though impossible) |

Trill2b:Now this is how to sell what Nigerians will buy. I like the way you write. What you didn't include is how to get there. Stripping this f****d constitution and formulating another(or adopting 1963s), making the political system more open, etc. I have a feeling you're part of Atiku's team(just a gut feeling, no biggie). |
