For those calling for the return of Enyeama, we have heard from someone that spoken with him personally, allow the young to enjoy his retirement. |

zicky:To be honest, I think we can do without Enyeama but not the way the Gk coaches are going about looking for a replacement. No matter how many times, you play Akpeyi, he is not going to suddenly become a good keeper. This season, Alampasu is back at Feirense, Uzoho is now number 3 in Deportivo La Coruna and we still have Nwokolor. Not forgetting Emmanuel Daniel. There are also very good young keepers on the local scene. CHAN would have been a good place to test them. We should actively be looking for a good quality replacement. |

Good news. He's better than most of the folks we're parading as fullbacks today. And let's hope that Moses Odubajo has fully recovered as well. O pari BascoVanVeli: |

Michael Emenalo is most influential African in Europe, says Kanu Colin Udoh, KweséESPN ESPN.com | 1:22 AM FJT Former Nigeria captain Nwankwo Kanu has described Michael Emenalo as the most influential African in European football. Emenalo, who turns 52 on Thursday, is the Technical Director at Premier League cub Chelsea where he has oversight over the club's academy and scouting departments. "From his position at Chelsea he pulls a lot of strings, and I can't think of another African in a similar position in Europe," Kanu, a two-time African Player of the Year, told KweséESPN. "He is in a very strong place where he takes care of everything from the academy and all the way to the first team." Kanu, who spent a big part of his playing career in England, says Emenalo has earned his position on merit "For anyone, especially an African to get to a position like that, you need to know what you are doing and then have a bit of luck to have the contacts and connections." Emenalo was brought to Chelsea by Avram Grant who knew the Nigerian from his time in Israel with Maccabi Haifa, but Kanu says his countryman has more than earned his stripes. "You can have all the contacts and connections and if don't have the skill to deliver, you will not get anywhere. "Emenalo has shown that he has what it takes to succeed because he has the knowledge to gives the club exactly what they want. He has a good relationship with the club and its owners, and he is a hardworking person who does what the club needs him to do and looks out for the interest of the club." Despite the influential position of the Nigerian, there has not quite been an African influx at Chelsea, but Kanu says that is not an issue "We have had Drogba there, we have had Mikel, Moses, Omeruo and some of the young boys in the academy. But that is not the issue. The truth is that if he doesn't see what the club wants in a player, he cannot just sign them because they are Africans," he said. On a personal level, Kanu has even more praise for Emenalo. "I've met him a lot of times when I have been at Chelsea. He is a calm guy, not somebody who talks a lot. Not aggressive in the sense that when you meet him, he is very approachable. "He is a very hard worker, just like he was as a player. He is till working hard outside the football pitch. That is what drives him and he is still moving on and growing in strength." |

Jay-Jay Okocha advises Kelechi Iheanacho to leave Manchester City Subhankar Mondal@subhankarjournoPublished now Here Is The City Iheanacho is one of the best and most promising young forwards in the Premier League and has been linked with moves away from City in the summer transfer window. Former Bolton and Nigeria star Okocha has suggested that his compatriot should leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window. “I think he has come at that age that he needs regular first-team games and I think it would be a better decision for him to go somewhere else where he can play week in week out,” Okocha told ESPN FC about Iheanacho. “So I think that’s a great decision for him to move out of Manchester City this season.” Iheanacho is behind Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order at City at the moment, and it would make sense for him to leave the Citizens this summer. Tottenham would be a good destination for the youngster. True, Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Spurs at the moment, but the Nigerian could establish himself just behind him in the pecking order as Vincent Janssen struggled badly last season. Moreover, the youngster would get to work with manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has a brilliant track record of working with young and talented players. BascoVanVeli:I did not attack them. I responded to the news that Rohr wanted to resign because of interference. Later there was a counter news of Rohr saying they were not meddling in his affairs. I am okay with that. The troubling part is, if the news was true, you would have defended the NFF meddling and interfering with Rohr's list. You even went as far as arguing with others trying to point out that meddling is wrong. ![]() |

Leicester City transfer news: Kelechi Iheanacho has made 'great decision' to leave Manchester City By James_Sharpe Kelechi Iheanacho has made a 'great decision' to leave Manchester City as the young striker nears a move to Leicester City. That is the view of Nigeria legend Jay-Jay Okocha, who hopes Iheanacho will get the chance to establish himself as a regular start in the Premier League. Leicester are confident of completing the signing of Iheanacho, having agreed a £25m deal with Man City for the Nigeria international Issues between Iheanacho's former and current representatives appear to be the only stumbling blocks holding up the move, with reports in Ghana of a legal tussle over the striker's image rights. However, it is understood all parties are keen to get Iheanacho's move to Leicester sorted once this is resolved. Read more: 'I could not wait for Kasper Schmeichel'. Zieler talks decision to leave Leicester City "He has come of that age when he needs regular first-team games," said former Bolton star Okocha, widely regarded as one of the best Nigerian players of all time. "It will be a better decision for him to go somewhere where he can play week in, week out. I think it's a great decision for him to move out of Manchester City this season. "You never know (if he can be a 20-goal striker) until he starts playing regularly," Okocha told ESPN. "That's every player's dream, to be a starter. Hopefully, he will be able to show he has what it takes to be a starter in any team." The 20-year-old boasts the best goals-to-minutes ratio of any player to have scored 10 or more goals in the Premier League, having scored 12 goals in 1,278 minutes over the past two seasons. |

TheGoodJoe:Which news? If i call u a lie u will say i am insulting u. U responded to my comment and I never said they should force decisions I said he should give them a listen. Let me just drop how this started BascoVanVeli: Alot of countries operate with technical committees. Pinnick had long announced we were going this route. We have players with great knowledge of the game, we need to utilize them. There is nothing wrong with bouncing a few ideas off of some of our best ever players. TheGoodJoe: Great knowledge of the game crap. If any of them in the technical committee is so knowledgeable as they want us to believe, let them apply for the Super Eagles job and let us see if the same NFF/Technical committee will give them a second thought. If they are not good enough to Coach the team, they lack no basis in interfering with the technical plans of the coach. Rohr has my full support if he wants to resign. The NFF keeps dragging us back |

I admit he is trying but to be honest...out ex internationals need to improve themselves more....just take a look at oliseh, Daniel amokachi, emenalo etc.... these names I just listed won't have the time to meddle into the SE affairs because they're busy wit their work |

zicky:I would advise caution unless you can speak to Enyeama personally it's all hearsay. Enyeama is capable of making his own public statement. Furthermore, if the NFF want Enyeama who has served the country sacrificially and meritoriously. There is a far more dignified and respectful way to approach him than all this unnecessary rhetoric in the media. I still feel that he deserves an unreserved apology for the way he was treated. |

TheGoodJoe:that's true....I remember there were even claims that the NFF were already booking for flight to convey the eagles back home prior their match against the Ivorians.... why vet the coach list? I understand and I agree wit the call for the coach to always defend his list openly before the media and be asked questions... but not some clique all in the name of being ex internationals vetting a coach list.... telling him who to call and not to call... folks who lacks knowledge of Nigeria players in diaspora... remember one of them chiding rohr for inviting Ogu on the foolish reason that he play in Isreal....a league where no one get to watch him play here in Nigeria just imagine such individual among those vetting a coach list....it will be so obvious that only epl players will make SE list....even if they never get to play for their clubs because that's the league he gets to watch on dstv |

BascoVanVeli:what they expect can come in various ways... maybe vet a coach list of invited players? tell him the players to invite and not to invite...? remind him of the task ahead....and need to invite players ready to give their all? the latter is kind of more acceptable... but I will let you make know what they're likely going to tell the coach...... by the way...what are their qualifications as regard the round leather game...that will make them...to start framing tactics and vetting a coach list...? |
