Bro just take ur stand....tell her you won't and be serious about it...seems like she's always having her way...You are his father and u get to make decision too don't let her push u around...if she doesn't agree tell her to get one for him using her own money...SIMPLE!!!!

What kind of a mother would want a 6yrs old to own a phone?, has she thought of the negative effect it would impact on the child?. You're the father, and major decisions concerning your son should be made by you. Stand on whatever instructions you gave her.

Well in 2017, I don't think a boy of 6 is too young to have a phone if his parent can afford one. But it shouldn't be a 'MUST have'

Can't say much on this cos woman feeling are unpredictable this days,if she insist you should get a phone for ur son, there are affordable phone which are budget free in town,a friend of mine just got this new TECNO droipad 7d,which I think will be suitable for ur son at that age

The only phone that can be useful to your son is the DroiPad 7D,simply because its affordable and it can help him study..I think you should get it for him if you can,in the western world,his age mate already own a computer for assignments

a computer for assignments is different from a a phone with gaming apps. Also the kids in the west are developing attention deficits and developmental delays because of their constant use of phones and tablets. There was a recent news story that showed kids not paying attention to their parents or things going on around them as long as they have their eyes in the phone/tablet. Allow your kids to grown with an idea of reality as supposed to the virtual b.s

The world is fast evolving and there's nothing bad if a six year old have a phone, but chose the device you're buying for him wisely. You can get the droipad for him ,it's good for kids

A phone? At age 6? And someone said a droipad to help him study. Biko, what is he studying that's more than 1+2 and A-Z at this age?

I wouldn't advice you get the phone op, but for the sake of peace with baby mama, you can get him something that's not expensive. Preferably the educational gadgets like someone mentioned.

But then, baby mama is being over demanding like you said. It's a phone today, what will it be tomorrow and for how long will you continue indulging her? He's your son too, and you have a say in how he's brought up.
