If uber won't increase fare like taxify, let them reduce their percentage. 25 percent is crazy. Monkey de work baboons de chop and if monkey no work baboons will not chop or will d baboons eat d monkey?

The 25% commission they collect is a global policy. They don't go below 20% anywhere in the world. Its a company policy. There is nothing the Nigerian office can do about it.

You are right. There is no doubt that demand has gone down. Surge is very limited even on the Island and it goes off quickly. Many times, you may even be in a surge area and not get requests until the surge goes down. I don't think the problem is that there are more drivers. I think that riders are tired of paying surge money and have found other alternatives.
could the drop in demand be as a result of schools going on holiday?

That occurred to me too, coupled with the fact that people have traveled for summer holidays with their kids. However, that can't be a major reason. I don't think the number of people who use Uber to drop and pick their children from school is so significant that they caused such a drop in demand.

I'm in lekki phase 1, more than 8 cars, hussling in one area, to get a rider.

Those who are flaunting what they make weekly here have stop doing so, even Uber always put the highest earner on their site, but now nothing.

If you are depending on surge to make money, forget it, surge will only come back, if there is flood, or a very serious traffic.

Uber should cancel surge, and bring back the price to normal.

Why are they doing promo? Because they know the current price is nothing but slavery.

How can a driver be online for 16hours and make 10k minus 4k fuel, left with 6k.

Im done with Uber, I better go search other job, Than killing myself.

To be fair, regardless of what company you drive for, I think there is a huge disparity between rental and HP arrangements.

I don't think any rental car agreement should be above N30,000 weekly as drivers need to have the incentive of owning the car to pay higher. Whoever requests higher than this should prepare to have their car wrecked, and basically, they won't recover their investment.

Taxify request is the worst, you can wait for more than 4 hours without rider and their app is problematic

It seems you are right. I just went home after getting only 2 requests since morning. I stayed at Agidingbi for almost 3hrs. na em I just go house.

It was a different scenario last week cos of Lekki flood

Demand has dropped drastically, sometimes you wait up to 20-30mins nothing, then wen it comes they will ask u go 7km for pick up, and after pick up the passenger go less than 5km and you are paid 300naira. And you start all over again.

they are asking you to service your car for 12k a month. Shakiru services my car for less. I'm sure they'll charge for any extra work that needs to be done
